  1. I'm trying to get to the one in Northern Cali, though it's way down the peninsula. Ugh. But man, I will not be denied my Krusty-O's with jagged metal O's!
  2. According to Wilcoworld, Richard Swift is the opener for the August shows.
  3. Wilcoword says tickets are now on sale, but you'll have to wait until July 15 if you're not a member of SF Jazz.
  4. Even for a bootleg, that is one badly labeled show. The correct stats, including date and song titles, can be found on WilcoBase: Barrymore Theater, Madison, Wisconsin, November 16, 2000
  5. After working a few hours at Uro Cafe two doors down from the Warsaw, I joined my buddies for plates of pierogies, kielbasa, and blintzes, as well as a sweaty, full-throttle rock show that had me jumping up and down and singing along at the top of my lungs. "Why Would You Wanna Live" is one of the highlights for sure, and I'm not going to forget the three-guitar relay on "Hoodoo Voodoo" anytime soon. And really, any show that ends with "Outtasite" can never be a bad gig.
  6. Ouch. Stories like those really dispel the glamor (ha!) of life on the road. I'm glad they made it out, at least this once.
  7. I saw him a few months ago and was very pleasantly surprised--great tunes and musicianship. Should be a great double bill!
  8. Ugh. Shoreline = barf. More dates from Wilcoworld AUG-15 WINNIPEG, MAN BURTON CUMMINGS THEATRE AUG-21 SEATTLE, WA MARYMOOR PARK AUG-22 PORTLAND, OR EDGEFIELD AUG-27 SAN DIEGO, CA CONCERTS IN THE PARK AUG-29 LOS ANGELES, CA GREEK THEATRE
  9. A great run of West Coast solo shows from February 2006, and a deliriously wonderful time with the friends who came out to play (Strawberry Beret!).
  10. Nice! What a great venue too! And I can think of some VCers who might be celebrating their birthdays around then...
  11. Oh dear, I hope everyone took their disco naps. Thanks for the report.
  12. Why weren't you there?! Fun pic, by the way!
  13. I never thought that my extensive knowledge of early-'90s supermodels would come in useful on a Wilco board--another reason to love having Nels in the band!
  14. Kristen McMenamy, a supermodel from the early '90s. I believe he has a matching guitar strap adorned with her images as well.
  15. Why doesn't Andrew do this more often?!? Thanks, UK crew, for the rundown.
  16. The patron of the red velvet swing! Have a great day, Mart.
  17. Ahhh, finally "Either Way"! Paris must be lovely right about now, what with at least two VC stalwarts gracing the gig. Thanks for the report!
  18. That reminds me of the old commercials featuring the Pink Panther. What a cartoon likeness of a French inspector has to do with insulation, I have no idea. Kudos to the great minds of Madison Avenue--clearly, they've done their job if I can still recall those ads. Oh yeah, back on topic: Can we add a no-asbestos clause? If so, sign me up!
  19. That struck me too--not in relation to Wilco, but to music in general. Well said.
  20. Looks like I'm heading south or slightly east...
  21. The festival is nothing to sneeze (or sweat) at, but the club shows are where it's at.
  22. Very cool! Good luck in the Golden State. It's not a bad place to be.

    Tour Dates

Rock and roll moms are the best! Too bad we never got you to the Great American Music Hall or Bimbo's 365...they'd both make for some great visualizations.
