  1. Wow! Talk about special guest! To see Paul Mccartney play at Shea Stadium is a dream come true! Not to mention Roger Daltry on stage with Billy?! Steven Tyler was interest treat also Paul Mccartney Played I Saw Her Standing There! The place was shaking. Later he played Let it Be which appeared spontaneous! Roger Daltry did My Generation Steven Tyler did Walk This Way Tony Bennett did New York State of Mind and Garth Brooks did Shameless (I don't think Billy has EVER played this live?) As for Billy the show clocked in at 3 hours 20 minutes! Here is the setlist! Billy Joel July 18, 2
  2. This would have been one of the last bands I would expect this to happen to!
  3. I was fortunate to catch the Walkmen when they toured behind their first album. I saw them open for Firewater in May 2001? They were a total different band back then. I also saw them maybe 3 times on the Bow's and Arrows tour which was awesome. I saw them at the Kintting Factory (holds only 200!) the night they did 3 shows I row when they previewed that album. I don't know how he screams like that night after night.
  4. I enjoyed the last Walkmen Cd Another One Goes By, Lost in Boston and Louisana are some of my favorite tracks by them! Can't wait for the new album!
  5. Get there very early! I went a few years ago and it was PACKED! Hard to move around and get from one stage to the next. It was still a fun day thought!
  6. An update... http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/biztech/07/15...y.ap/index.html
  7. I would love it if the USA can invent or manufacture some sort of reusable fuel that we can sell to other nations (Especially China, India and Middle East) thus having a cleaner world and maybe fixing our economy at the same time!
  8. FYI Europe is larger and has twice the population of the USA... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_states Europe is 3,930,000 Sq Miles and Europe has 731 Million People USA is 3,794,066 Sq Miles and USA has 305 Million
  9. Just one idea....there are several cars that get in excess of 40+ miles per gallon. If the government made the rise in MPG mandatory that car obtained said mileage sooner that would greatly reduce our usage. I just am worried that we are blindly assuming there is oil in the Artic Refuge and in the Ocean. What proof do they have? If we do this and we come up empty handed we will be in a pretty dire situation... Another change I would like would be improvements in mass transit. The Mass transit in the USA is very inefficient and not convenient. In Europe it is timely, convenient and relativel
  10. As much as I dislike their beers this is sad. This is a symbolic American Company steeped in great American Traditions. One benefit is the beer may taste better if they use Belgian Brewing Laws! PS The Chrysler Building in Manhattan was sold to Abu Dabi recently....
  11. I can't stand Bush. Here is another reason why!? He feels he is above all http://cnnwire.blogs.cnn.com/2008/07/14/bu...fshore-oil-ban/ http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080714/ap_on_go_pr_wh/bush I know gas is expensive but to do this is careless. If demand drops prices will follow. Why not use many of the hundreds of alternatives we have to reduce dependence. Instead of letting our usage get out of control the responible thing would be to use our alternatives and reduce usage. Not continue to let the demand rise so we can drill some more. We have the technology! What I don't get too is
  12. I saw the Eagles a month or so ago and they put on a good show. They play 30 or so songs and it clocks in at over 2 and a half hours. I think they sounded pretty good in concert and the crowd enjoyed it....
  13. I will be there on friday! Will report back here!
  14. Great thread title! Sounds like good old ticketmaster to me!
  15. I like the House of Blues in Atlantic City. I consider it a legit venue. Mohegan Sun gets some great shows too!
  16. Just got the invite for my 10th...Welcome to the club I guess...
  17. I have been a Billy Joel fan since I was about 8. Stranger is a great album! No shame in it! I do like his earlies stuff even better though. If you listen to Cold Spring Harbor it is hard to comprehend that this album was made as a 23 year old! Streetlife Serenader and Piano Man are great too! I have seen him about 7 or so times in concert and am seeing him next friday at Shea. I even met him once and he was very friendly! I do wish though he would spice up his setlist more and stray from the hit laden sets! Here is my Billy Joel top 10: 1. Zanzibar 2. Stilleto 3. Everybody Loves You Now 4
  18. Supergrass-Coffee in the Pot R.E.M.- Rotary Ten, White Tornado Radiohead- Meeting in the Aisles Blur-Lot 105, Optigon 1 Air- Voyage De Penelope, LeFemme de Argent Billy Joel-Nocturne Elliott Smith- Mad Dog 20/20 Phish-Landlady

  20. Aye. Badlands strecth into North Dakota too...Thanks for the correction on Custer's...So close..I guess...
  21. One of my goals is to visit all 50 states. The last one I have left is North Dakota. I have an airline credit and know I will be there before next year when the thing expires. My plan is to fly into Minneapolis spend a day or so then go to North Dakota....so this leads me to my next questions. What is to do there that is not a big distance from Minneapolis? I know the Badlands are there along with Roosvelt National Park but thats on the other side of the state. Anyone been to Fargo or Grand Forks? Any national parks or historic sites to see? I know Custard's last stand was somewhere in ND. Any
