  1. Here's the tab for Whatever http://www.sweetadeline.net/hangingout.txt
  2. Jeff is an incredible singer, but everyone makes mistakes. That being said, I thought "What Light" was much better in Bb.
  3. I don't have a band, but I did just make a myspace profile for my songs (mostly works in progress). Not much on it yet, but what's on it is good: http://www.myspace.com/filipransom
  4. http://www.gumbopages.com/uncle-tupelo.html The version up on there is Capo 5. On, on piano it would be Am, C, F, C, G, Am, etc...
  5. Thanks! I thought I saw it on here, couldn't find it with a search.
  6. I've always heard it as "swap bop swap bop." Just sort of nonsensical fun words.
  7. This song is quite clearly within his range. Are you deaf?
  8. Who cares? You'll get the album, and that's all that really matters.
  9. The only song I can really think of is "Won't Let You Down" off the YHF Demos, and even that one ain't so bad.
  10. You present a strong argument. Hopefully, I can still get into the class after I get my paycheck this week.
  11. I'm having some trouble getting this part to sound right/getting the timing down. Is this played as 16th note triplets (or something like that)?

  13. I was just messing around with this last night, after watching the tweedy solo DVD. I got it sounding pretty close by taking that Gumbopages tab for the solo, and looking at the notes. Then, I just picked out those notes while alternately strumming an Am chord. For example, the first riff would be like: e----------------------------0 B----------------------------1 G----------------------------2 D--------------2-------------2 A--0---0---3------3--2--0--0 E-----------------------------0
  14. It sounds like they play this lick three times during the song. The last time they play it, it sounds like the ending is slightly different. I can't quite figure it out (and I don't have a gutair on me to double-check) but it kind of sounds like this to me: e 6-7-9-----6-7-8-------5-7--14-12---------------- b -------8----------5------------------12------------ g -------------------------------------------------12- d ----------------------------------------------12---- a ------------------------------------------12-------- e -----------------------------------------------------
  15. Does anyone have any idea what pedal(s) is(are) used on the solo in "You Are My Face"? It sounds face-rippingly awesome, and I have no clue where to even start.
  16. Nice guitar work, the guitar sounds great. The vocals sound awful at first, and then decent. If you work on it, I think you can pull it off. I'm no expert on these things, but I think you may have been singing the song sharp.
  17. I don't have the DVD for reference, but when he plays it solo, he likes to play a D7, and hammer on the b-string. example: D7 e--2 B--1 G--2 D--0 A--0 E--x hammer on: e--2 B--0h1p0 G--2 D--0 A--0 E--x
  18. Isn't the Bm/D actually a G/D? e -3-- b -3-- g -4-- d -0--
  19. Fuck profit, buy a guitar you'll enjoy playing.
  20. For $400, I would want to make real sure I knew what the hell I was doing.
  21. Quite simple, really. Play the some chords, and move the capo somewhere else. Capo 5 might work better for you, for example.
  22. Seems pretty accurate, I like it. How long do you hold the weird E-chords for? Full measure? Half measure?
