  1. I always thought Bowie's androgyny was hot. Steven just mostly look(ed)s like an alcoholic housewife to me.
  2. So Steven is back on the boozerini? That's a super creepy picture. He even appears to have a bit of cleavage.
  3. Kelly Hogan intro'd it as "The impossibility of tomboys to find love." Neko sang it alone, accompanying herself on guitar. So intensely vulnerable and tough. Time stopped.
  4. I’m sure you’re sleeping sound With a mistress of the hours The hours that grind your life to dust Oh, easy loves You keep like pets Denied them you are powerless Whatever keeps you sleeping through the night I’m not the man you thought I was My love has never lived indoors I had to drag it home by force Hired hounds at both my wrists Damp and bruised by stranger’s kisses on my lips But you’re the one that I still miss You’re the one that I still miss And it's ruthless that it comes as no surprise I’m not the man you think I am I’m not the man you think I am Brought me to tears at her
  5. Clearly you all aren't familiar with WWF moves. Consider the source.
  6. Wow this is pretty good. Maybe a bit elegant for the genre or something, but good.
  7. Be hard to make a call based on the trailer, but anything that starts out with Sam Shepard talking gets my vote. Say one thing, the cinematography looks gorgeous.
  8. My daughter is going to have an effing coronary.
  9. The evangelical right believes this is the beginning of the end. They are stockpiling food and ammo. I'm not making this up.
  10. This is a wonderful post. I love the primitive, nuanced, intimate nature of a songwriter and his guitar. Jeff hasn't done much solo touring in the past couple of years, and I have feared that this part of his career has become 'obsolete'.
  11. Bump. This is a deeply penetrating book. Man o man. I may join carlos in having the title tattooed to my foot.
  12. Did he not appear so soundly asleep, I'd say the shot was set up. Classic.
  13. Awww. How adorable is that! Spawn sleeping all cuddled up to his iPhone.
  14. You're just saying that because it's my move.
  15. Reading the archives makes me sad and nostalgic for the salad days.
  16. The premise here is correct. AAA doesn't pay for oil changes in my car or to clean the leaves from my gutters. The problem arises in that there is a choice involved with owning the things we normally insure. One's body is not optional. Out of pocket prices for routine care is expensive. $80 for an office visit. $200 for a mammogram. That's almost a week's take home for minimum wage folks. In 1974 my husband and I, as college students, paid for prenatal care and birth of our daughter out of pocket within a year after she was born. Try doing that today. And has been pointed out, insurance
  17. At this point I can only blame that on attrition.
  18. It's a big sound...horns, keyboard, girl singers...yet retains all that makes them Lucero. Their unique sound got buried in the production last time around (imho of course). Fooking awesome. Ben's in love. Can't wait to see this live! Ah, it's ready. Comin' atcha...
  19. Lucero ~ 1372 Overton ~ 6 song sampler from presale Oh my Jesus
  20. Hmm. It doesn't appear the Crossroads is selling VIP tickets in the presale. I wonder if that means they won't have it... Edit: Nope, no VIP section. Second edit: tickets have been procured.
