Thanks y'all. It was a very cool moment. Especially to share a mic with Rhett all Beatles style. It was really cool to see Rhett so many times in a row too. I went to 3 out of 4 shows he did in the southeast last week. Culminating in Knoxville. My little sister got to come to that one, and Rhett told her I nailed it in Nashville. Very fun, and something I will never forget.

I've seen Rhett there lots with the 97s. Unfortunately that night was a bit slow. Jack White was in town, and I think that had everything to do with it. The 2nd half of the show, Rhett took exclusively requests from the crowd, and somebody yelled out "Fireflies". Rhett started the song then stopped at the 3rd line and looked at me, and said "Sarah, you want to sing this with me?" I said, yep, and went on stage. It was amazing! My friend got some video, and I'll post a link. http://youtu.be/b9goKy4ReCI

This week I "went on tour" with Rhett Miller. He did a little jaunt through the southeast, and played some very interesting and intimate places. Monday was Eddies Attic in Decatur GA right outside of Atlanta. It was a sell out show, and the room was rowdy but respectful. Tuesday was Nashville at Mercy Lounge. I've seen Rhett there l

Finally I am able to log on and do a bit of a show review! First, my husband and I had an awesome time. We got to be right on the front row. The set list was extraordinary, and it was amazing to see the band work up close. Early in the day we got to chat with Jeff and told him about our wedding and he asked if we had any "honeymoon requests" we asked for Magaz Gah. SOrry y'all i am posting from my phone. Anyway, we asked for Magazine Called Sunset. I was so glad they played it. The whole show was just fantastic.

What a dick, wow. What year was this... 80-something, obviously? at that synth in the background -
Also, something I don't get... why does everyone assume "religious" people can't be liberal/will not back the president. I am a Christian, but I keep church and politics separate. The way this country is run should not be dependent upon its leader's religious affiliations. That leader should do what is best for this country, not what's best for the preachers of doctrine, and vice versa. Doctrine should not be intertwined with politics. That being said, I voted for Obama in 08 and plan to vote for him this time.

I wish there was an applause emoticon for this.

I must admit, whether that is factual or not, it made me laugh. -
I am in between books at the moment. School fried my brain, so I've been playing more video games lately just to veg for a few days. However, my husband is reading the Harry Potter series for the FIRST TIME EVER. it's fun rediscovering it through his reactions to it.

Found out today that I have lost my grant for school. I have been working on an undergraduate degree since 2006, and have changed my major a total of 4 times. As a result, I have too many credits to qualify for any more aid. Basically, I shot myself in the foot with the school's own gun. I couldn't complete the requirements in any of the majors I tried to be in (i.e.: couldn't make it through their standardized testing, final recitals, etc.). I went from English > Music Education > Education > Communications > English: Writing This past semester I finally switched back to En

Martin And Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy Announce New Custom Guitar
SarahC replied to Bosco's topic in Solid State Technology
I can't decide which guitar would be more awesome, this one, or the SG. Gah, if I win the lottery I would get both. So pretty, and I bet equally a joy to play. -
I want to buy one of these guitars so bad.

What does your upcoming concert schedule look like?
SarahC replied to EstimtedProphet's topic in Someone Else's Song
My sister will be at that show! -
It practically impacted my back yard about 5-6 years ago. For a while we'd had really shitty neighbors. They practically ignored their kids, and a lot of times the 2 youngest would come over to our house and ask to "borrow" milk/bread/sandwich meats. They had no supervision whatsoever, and one time my mom found one of the kids in the middle of the street laying down. She asked her what was going on, and the little girl said she was hoping to get run over to "meet Jesus and run away from mommy". My mom called the police. My dad had also noticed a lot of in/out traffic over at their place, and

Waiting in line before GA Wilco shows anybody have any tips?

Remember the mad dash to the front in Santa Barbara? That's the only time I've been front row at a Wilco show. -
Waiting in line before GA Wilco shows anybody have any tips?
SarahC replied to SarahC's topic in Just A Fan
Maybe I am a bit over zealous. I just really, really want to be front row. When did people start lining up for the GA Chicago shows (though I guess it is AL and not IL... so there's probably a big difference) At the Avett Brothers show we saw in December, this drunk floozy got in front of me, and my sister (4 years younger than me, which makes it all the more awesome and slightly embarrassing) threatened to knock her teeth out if she didn't move. The girl moved. -
My husband and I will be attending our first GA Wilco show at Sloss Furnace next week. So, I was wondering if any of you guys experienced with GA shows could give us some tips. I have been to 1 GA show before in Berkley back in 2007, but nerfherder (Collin) and I lucked out into a second row spot. How early is early enough to ensure front row? We were thinking 7am. Do we just run like hell to the front of the stage when they open the gate? I emailed Sloss Furnaces to ask them what the procedure was for GA shows, and they didn't really say much, except "get here early" I know i'm p

How does a living room show newbie break into the scene? That's what I am wondering. I'm saving money now in hopes of making a show in 2013...

I bet the first few shows they close with 'the weight' or 'i shall be released' I am so so so so so so pumped for the show in 2 weeks. almost 2 weeks exactly in fact. we are camping out all day at the venue to ensure front row status. :rock :rock :hyper :hyper :D i think those little guys accurately express my emotion. I hope they had a good break, really, because that means they will rock extra hard. Been requesting A Magazine Called Sunset every day for like 2 weeks now with different reasons why I love the band in the comment section. hope it makes whoever reads those comment
