PopTodd
What Wilco classics are contenders? "There's a Light"
Moss
Personal taste can't technically be wrong, but this begs the question. I really like LCD Soundsystem, and I love "Someone Great", but that song annoys the hell out of me. It's so monotonous. It's no more monotonous than something like "Kidsmoke". Plus it has really good lyrics.
Sir Stewart
It's too hard to say that "Like a Rolling Stone" isn't the best ever, so maybe this should be the best songs by mere mortals, of which I'd have a hard time deciding between "In My Life" and Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World." You can't say "mere mortals" then go on to name The Beatles and Satchmo!
Rusty Shackleford
Lots of good ones (and some bad ones) in this thread, but I'll add a few I didn't see mentioned: R.E.M., Fall On Me Son Volt, Windfall Television, See No Evil Big Star, The Ballad of El Goodo The Beatles, Let It Be
