willywoody
I worked for Starbucks. all i know is what i read, first there was a big article in usa today, maybe about a year ago that put starbucks in a negative light, the specifics of which i forget right now . then i just googled "is starbucks evil" and ran into the union website which had interesting things to say. so what's the deal with no set hours? that would suck not being guaranteed at least a minimum number of hours a week. the affordable health care is a whole 'nother animal that's not just a problem for starbucks' employees. HighFives
I'd buy Sky Blue Sky at Arby's if they sold it there.

One of the goals of captalism is to make money - cutting labor = more profit for the corporation. I would think they want to send people home whenever business is slow. Guest Jules
that makes sense but a minimum number of hours guaranteed is not asking much.they don't have to work there.
yankhotelfox
truck stop coffee is way better than that burnt tasting shit starbucks sells. Seconded, heinous stuff. Their frapps, however, are pretty freakin' good.
yermom
that makes sense but a minimum number of hours guaranteed is not asking much. maybe they do that already but it wasn't clear on that website. There are an awful lot of businesses that don't guarantee a minimum number of hours...especially those businesses where the employee pool is mostly teens and twenty-somethings. On another note, who does Starbucks think they are refusing to sell music with sexual themes? They put that brownie drowning in caramel right there in the case, in plain sight for children and everyone to see, and the thing is clearly screaming, "Make sweet love to me, darlin'. Put me into your mouth, baby."

They put that brownie drowning in caramel right there in the case, in plain sight for children and everyone to see, and the thing is clearly screaming, "Make sweet love to me, darlin'. Put me into your mouth, baby."This is why I had to stop going into Starbucks! I wanted to go off caffeine anyway, but also that filthy whore, chocolate chip banana coffee cake, kept luring me into sin. And for the record, I think I've bought a couple of the Starbucks compilation CDs.

M. (hristine
Sarah and I walked into a busy Starbucks today, walked over to the CD kiosk, turned it so teh Wilcos were facing out, oohed and ahhhed over the picture of our cute boys, and walked out. It was awesome.

Col. Hapablap
Starbucks To Open A Starbucks Inside The Bathroom Of A Pre-excisting Starbucks! This makes me think of that Simpsons episode where Bart goes into a mall to get his ear pierced, and the clerk says "Ok. but ya better hurry kid. They're turning this place into a starbucks." Then he walks out of that store sipping a Starbucks coffee and its now a starbucks and every store in the mall is boarded up with a sign that says "coming soon: a Starbucks."
