tinnitus photography
Relatively Clean RiversImagine if CSN hadn't been quite so overexposed and had been a bit more like the Grateful Dead. Yeah, like that. (But, of course, not quite as brilliant, either.) Yeah, kinda like that. ^^^ great record.

PopTodd
Time to revive this thread again! I want to give a shout-out to... Blue RuinFeaturing the former drummer from The Birthday Party (Nick Cave's old band), Phil Calvert. BR mines the blues vein running through the old band's music a little more deeply. To me, they sound like what the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion would sound like if they were dead-serious, and genuinely dangerous. I posted this (terrible) video in another thread. It's for the first song from their second album (and the only album of theirs that I have ever heard), Flame.Like I said, terrible video, but close your eyes and listen to this.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqj9Lq3GqGUAnd, it's not even the best song on the album. tinnitus photography
Grails really good band, esp if you don't mind vocal-less music. they've certainly stretched out on recent records. highly recommended if you like brooding instrumentals.

uncle tupelo
Vanda and Young's genius struck the late 70's and was overlooked and extremely underappreciated....Flash and the Pan's first two albums.. S/T and "Lights In The Night" are responsible for my love of indie music...probably unlike anything you've ever heard before...

Calexico
Props to Hamell On Trial. Love his stuff and live he is even better. A band from Southend garnering a lot of hype for their second album, These New Puritans. Great record, breakbeats, electronica and the spirit of Echo and The Bunnymen having tea with John Foxx. SteveMck
The Bogmen Yes! "Yellar" came up on my IPod the other day and it reminded me of how dizzy I got watching Billy Campion sing that song live - I don't know how he remained standing while singing that tune. PopTodd
I think that I mentioned them earlier, but I found this video forThe Formathttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZ2ZrnsDAkQ One of my favorite albums of the '00s. Oh, and every song on the album is as catchier as, if not catchier than this one. So, so great.
