The abomination that is Syracuse notwithstanding, the Big East looks good.

Cincy over Oregon State

South Florida over Auburn (especially sweet)

It kinda sucks that their non-conference schedules are so bad, but West Virginia, Louisville, and Rutgers can play with anybody.

GO RUTGERS !!!!

MJHutch.... First I want to say that I am sorry you had to witness that... It was ugly for me to watch, and I am not a Michigan fan.

Oy vey, this is going to be a real long season. There were a few Oregon fans sitting near me Saturday, and when it was apparent that they had the game in hand (shortly before half time) they started to get a little cocky. Well, luckily I had the perfect response to put them back in their place . . .

"Why are you getting so excited about beating a team that lost to a Division 1-AA team?"

I keep telling myself that Michigan will beat ND, run the Big 10, go to Pasedena and win the Rose Bowl. Oh, and Bush will get us out of a politically stable Iraq, universal healthcare will be provided by the federal government with income and payroll tax deductions and no increase in the deficit, and that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny exist.

Go Blue!

Freshman Ryan Mallett will start against the Fighting Irish on Saturday...

..."I can guarantee you that he's not intimidated."

:lol

I'm going to have to record this game for posterity. If there is any way this could end in a 0-0 tie, that would be beautiful.

If we could only find Doc's Delorean and travel to 2010 for Clawson's and Mallett's senior years, this game could be a classic. Unfortunately, we are getting these guys a few years too early.

On the bright side, you still have the prospect of that 2010 game to look forward to.

I'm just getting my laughs in while I can. As for my Buckeyes, I watched the game Saturday at a sports bar and, sure, they won. But by the end of the game there was a vocal Akron fan laughing and yelling to everyone "You guys are screwed when you have to play a real team!" Nobody argued with him. :unsure Fortunately, they play in the Big Ten!

Courtroom Drama

Columbus, OH (AP) - A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Franklin County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the University of Michigan Wolverines, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

You can't beat the classics. :rolleyes

I wasn't aware that joke was in circulation outside the city of Columbus.

Unrelated, but when I moved into my freshman dorm there was a roll of TP in the bathroom that had the words "Flush twice, its a long way to Michigan" printed on it.

I saw that one in the bathrooms at my college library, except with the name of the south campus dining hall.

Two that I remember from the UM-OSU rivalry years ago:

Q: Why doesn't Ohio fall into Kentucky?

A: Because Michigan sucks!

Directions to Columbus: south 'til you smell it, east 'til you step in it.

One time in Gainesville, I saw a bumper sticker that said "What's the best thing to come out of Tallahassee? I-10"

My Mountaineers looked a little sloppy last night against Maryland but freshman Noel Devine's line 5 carries for 136 yards! is pretty hard to mess with. The defense looks improved too, but this is probably not the fourth best team in the country.

I've heard it told last week by a 10yr old in our office about the Oakland Raiders

I laughed hard the other day when I heard someone call Ohio State, Southern Michigan University.

Well, now that Michigan has finally won a game, lets all pause for a moment to gaze at Northwestern and Minnesota losing to the Dookies and Florida Atlantic, repectively. Wow.

Rumors are circulating that DeVry and Phoenix University Online's intramural teams are looking to join the Big Ten mid-season and are predicted to have the inside-track to the Rose Bowl.
