Guest Speed Racer
I have to pick a senior quote this year too! I like "I'll see you all again on your long journey to the middle." but I cant remember where in the movie that quote is. Tell me. Almost Famous - William Miller's exchange with Lester Bangs. the_fliz1
So, what did you find? Were you playin a trick on me? I thought that didn't sound right.
mymorningwilco
If you want to sound like a freak: "I dreamed about killing you again last night and it felt alright to me". There may be an FBI investigation if you use that. How about: "Springtime comes and the leaves are back on the trees again....Snipers are harder to see my friend". I love the paranoia in that quote. jesselne
I'd go with "Take of your band-aids, because I don't believe in touchdowns" I wish I would have been this into Wilco when I graduated. :S

Irwin M. Fletcher
How about one from W? I've always been fond of: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me.....can't get fooled again!"

jcroach
What you once were isn't what you want to be anymore. This would be my choice too.
OOO
Were you playin a trick on me? I thought that didn't sound right. Yes, he has just said it at shows in between songs a few times - its not from a song.
ponch1028
So many to choose from. I think most if not all that have been mentioned are good choices. However, looking back, I wish my senior quote had more playfulness and less earnestness or melodramatic implications. So many quotes tried to be too profound. I wish my senior quote (and most quotes) could incorporate both poetry with a little sense of humor and less taking oneself too seriously. Take that with a grain of salt. With that, here are a couple from Jeff that I think have some lightheartedness as well as creativity, or some perhaps less profound but appropriate nonetheless 1. Everybody has to do something they don't wanna do ... everybody has to grow up, let's have some fun. 2. It's O.K. for you to say what you want from me. I believe that's the only way for me to be exactly what you want me to be. 3. All my daydreams are disasters. 4. Republicans and Democrats can't give you the facts. Your parents won't tell you 'til you're grown. That every star that shines in the back of your mind is just waiting for its cover to be blown. 5. The best songs will never get sung. The best life never leaves your lungs. So good you won't ever know. You can't hear it on the radio. You can't hear it on the radio. 6. With the sky blue sky, this rotten time wouldn't seem so bad to me now. Oh, if I didn't die, I should be satisfied. I survived, that's good enough for now (ok, so this one is a little dramatic). PopTodd
Keep it simple:"I'm always in love."
cash
These are all really good lines, Tweedy's quite the senior quote writer. For all the other seniors on the board, where are you guys looking for school? I sent my ED application to william and mary a week ago, i get the decision back on december 1st, i'm so nervous. On a different note, we have until Wednesday to pick the quote, the deadline got pushed back.
Bubs101
If you chopped the late Greats quote in half it would be brilliant, ending with "The best laugh never leaves your lungs" My suggestion would be "I have no idea how this happened, all of my plans have been overthrown"
a_quiet_domino
Why not a more fulsome version of "Wishful Thinking": Fill up your mind with all it can knowDon't forget that your body will let it all goFill up your mind with all it can knowWhat would we be without wishful thinking? Guest Speed Racer
i'd go with "your sister is cock"but seriously, i like "every moment's a little bit later" or "our love is all we have". See, the thing that gets me about lyric quotes is that if someone came up to you and randomly said, 'Every moment's a little bit later,' you'd think they were stupid. While that line sounds excellent within the context of the song, outside of it (and particularly to someone not familiar with Wilco), the quote sounds pretty obvious and shallow. Alone, it bears about as much weight as, 'casino queen, my lord you're mean.' If you really want a Wilco quote that is close to you and semi-profound, pick a few Wilco quotes and give them a 'dry run' with non-Wilcos.
