TheMaker
I love Adams when he's on, but this album is pap-poop. Blecch.
Wendy
The question CrushOfVeils80 asked in a separate thread was "What is everyone's favorite song off 'Cardinology'?" I will go with Cobwebs Whats everyone elses fav? ... and I merged it with our super-duper Ryan Adams thread. Just keepin' it tidy for Ryan. My answer thus far is "Fix-It" but I haven't given the album a proper spin yet. Not enough time!
stickman
I'm still waiting on the vinyl but it looks like it shouldn't be too long.

thecanuck
This album is really growing on me as seems to be the case with most Ryan Adams records. It fits in nicely with his body of work, but it doesn't blow me away like Jacksonville City Nights or Heartbreaker did. I think the Cardinals still have a killer album in them somewhere. They have such a great chemistry live and are incredibly talented musicians. I'm absolutely loving the first halfish. I'm not a huge fan of the verse on "Natural Ghost" or that weird job app metaphor in "Sink Ships", but things pick up again with "Evergreen". It also just hit me today on about the 5th spin how much I love the guitar break on "Like Yesterday". It has this undeniable laid back fluency and charm. It's not his best, but I definitely find a lot more to like about this album than I don't like.
Scalzunfield
I still haven't made it through the album yet. I'm not really impressed lyrically and I just get tired of him falling back on the whiney vocals constantly. I guess in some ways I'm hoping he's still got a career-defining album in him and this ain't even close to it.
bigideas
anyone heard the studio versions of Memory Lane or Color of Pain (the two bonus tracks i know of)?
HungryHippo
anyone heard the studio versions of Memory Lane or Color of Pain (the two bonus tracks i know of)?no. everyone is offering them up at the RAA but they never reply to their PMs. alas, maybe we're not meant to hear them. its kinda dumb to have to pay for the same record 2 times to get these extra songs. Analogman
Those songs are out there.
jcroach
no. everyone is offering them up at the RAA but they never reply to their PMs. alas, maybe we're not meant to hear them. its kinda dumb to have to pay for the same record 2 times to get these extra songs. 3 times if you already bought the US CD. Those songs are out there. If anyone could point me in the right directions on these, I'd be very grateful. I can't find them anywhere! I'd love to hear "heavy orange" and "asteroid" from the bonus 7" vinyl too. I'm not totally sold on the album yet. Not as good as Easy Tiger, but better than Love is Hell. My favorite tracks are "Fix it" and "Natural Ghost."
Analogman
I don't really want to get into that - but there are ways to search for Mp3s via Google and, of course, Bit Torrent sites.
Three dollars and 63 cents
Color of Pain is awful. I played it once and immediately unchecked it so it won't even go on my iPod. The album is definitely growing on me, though. I added four or five songs from it to the Ryan Adams play list I made a month or two ago and listened to it for most of the day yesterday. My main criticism of it is that many of the songs feel rushed, though, especially the first few, all of which end pretty suddenly. The RAA is a strange place. I thought about joining a few weeks ago, until I saw how they started deleting posts complaining about what happened in Atlanta. The moderating is way too heavy-handed for my tastes.
