They were on Leno last night. I liked the tune they did quite a bit. It's the first I've heard off the new album and I like how it fits in nicely with some of their earlier sounds. I'll have to pick Warpaint up, I think.

Was it Daughters Of The Revolution? aka song that sounds like a song off of Exile on Main St.

I am not sure if I like the new album or not - I would like to hear the tracks they did with Ed and Marc -

Hm. Is the rest of the album far off from that track? Will the tunes with Ed and Marc be available at any point? I'd assume not officially.

I would think since they are going to sell unreleased studio tracks and live shows now, it won't be out there like Tall was and the other stuff. I guess some of the songs that were to be on the scraped album ended up on the Brothers of A Feather release.

These two - I think:

Cold Boy Smile

Wow, Hype Repellent is as clever as he is hardcore, guys! Damn.

What I love - and I mean love - about VH1 is that non-U.S. residents are barred from viewing the site's actual content, but their sponsors' videos tick right along. Awesome! The 21st Century is so great!

Anyway, I can't comment on the performances, but what did you guys think of the soundtrack for that ad for AmEx? I thought the piano was absolutely ethereal, personally.

I think....Close but no cigar. They first lines sound similar but whenyou get to the main part is sounds different.

In fact some BC songs closely resemble the Faces so they should just keep doing what they are doing and stop this stupid shit.

Black Crowes Accuse Wilson Of Infringement

July 30, 2008 , 3:45 PM ET

Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.

Lawyers for the Black Crowes have served copyright infringement notices to Gretchen Wilson, TNT, Sony BMG and publishing company J Money Music over the band's 1991 hit "Jealous Again."

The Crowes claim Wilson exploited the track for her own song, "Work Hard, Play Harder," which TNT in turn then used in ads for its show "Saving Grace."

"Work Hard, Play Harder" is slated to appear on Wilson's next studio album, due before the end of the year.

"We find the musical verses of Wilson's song to be such an obvious example of copyright infringement that I expect all parties to reach a relatively quick resolution to avoid litigation," Crowes manager Pete Angelus says in a statement.

A spokesperson for Wilson had no comment on the development.

They are certainly doing some covers that no one has ever done - Hung Upside Down.

I have been reading a lot of negative comments about Luther's playing on the Amorica 2 message board.

I didn't think anything of him in particular... didn't stand out as good or bad either way. My favorite that they've had in that slot (at least that I got to see live) is Audley Freed. As for the new keyboard player, I thought he was pretty good. I think people had a special place in their heart for Harsch and having to follow him would be tough for any one.

I figure that's a lot of parts to learn, unlearn, create, etc:

After replacing guitarist Jeff Cease with Marc Ford
recruited a keyboardist of their own, Eddie Harsch
Guitarist Marc Ford was fired and bassist Johnny Colt subsequently left the group,
adding longtime associate Sven Pipien on bass
during which bassist Pipien was replaced by Greg Rzab
Crowes touring guitarist Audley Freed
featuring touring bassist Andy Hess
The band effectively dissolved in January 2002 with the departure of drummer Steve Gorman
In early 2005, the Robinson brothers with Eddie Harsch reassembled the band, bringing Marc Ford and Sven Pipien back into the fold and recruiting Bill

Dobrow

as original drummer Steve Gorman rejoined the band

In fall 2006, the band parted ways with longtime keyboard player Eddie Harsch and saw the departure of guitarist Marc Ford, who quit via fax on the verge of a fall tour. Replacing Harsch and Ford were Paul Stacey on guitar and Rob Clores on keyboards. In August 2007, the band introduced keyboard player Adam MacDougall, who replaced Clores after less than a year on tour. In addition, The Black Crowes invited guitar player Luther Dickinson from North Mississippi Allstars to perform on their upcoming record, entitled Warpaint. Dickinson officially replaced Stacey as guitarist in November 2007.
