As soon as I heard about the March 1st Saturday night live show I thought hell they tape it on Friday night or rehearse etc..... I am pissed..... 3rd row center seats and I need to see the boys bad... Worse deal is in AUgust Freaking RADIOHEAD is touring NOrth east and I want to see them...

Really disappointed and to not announce it immediately. I got lots of things to cancel as it was 4 hour drive.....

Damn Jeff You can do it without rehearsal and show up Saturday.....

Really sad when artist says boo to 1500 fans for a big time spotlight. Seems they would have said we can do it when we are free.

Thats life........

This was christmas PResent for my wife. She going to be real pissed.....\

My oh my. So Wilco has cancelled their SOLD OUT show in Charleston in favor of an appearance on Saturday Night Live. Tisk, tisk boys. I could be wrong, but I thought you were all about your fans. I think I recall a line in one of your songs.....something about "Half is you, half is me." I guess that doesn't apply if money and noteriety are involved though, huh?

I also find it interesting that Wilco hasn't had the descency to send out an email to their fans the way they usually do when they cancell a show. They don't even mention on their fancy website that the show has been cancelled. I think I know why. It's because the announcement would have to go something like this: "Wilco has cancelled it's sold out show in Charleston (which would have been full of long time and dedicated fans) because.......well........the band got a better offer that involved a fat paycheck and an egocentric appearance on national television.

Congratulations Jeff. This marks the first time in your career that someone could make a very strong argument that you have sold out.

"Half is me, half is me. Half is me, half is me. Half is me, half is me."

It's okay though Jeff. I understand I am just a fan. I'm just a fan.

You know what makes me mad?

Dr. Pepper Gum, The fact that Crystal Pepsi no longer exist, The Atlanta Braves, and Mayonnaise.

So sorry if I break any rules in my first post.

I called the PAC center about an hour ago and they said it still hasn't OFFICIALLY been cancelled. I mentioned all of the web material, and they said they hadn't heard from the band's management. I call BS on that one!

I like how everyone is saying "look on the brightside at least they'll be touring this summer." These people have obviously seen Wilco recently. I've been SERIOUSLY looking forward to this show for quite some time and now I gotta wait till August? Please. I feel like I've been stood up for the prom and being that i'm one ugly SOB I know eactly how that feels.

Why can't they come next week? Postpone Mobile, they suck anyway! kidding.

It just sucks, we all know that but I REALLY feel bad for the people who have already made arrangments. I almost want to hang out at the PAC friday afternoon to see some people get really pissed.

Well if people are coming into town and now have nothing to do, I got an eight track of Conway Twitty and some Franzia wine. Let's all party at my place.

I think I would have gone on with my life.

You don't think just maybe a thread or two would have been started and a few upset people may have posted in those threads?

P.S. How many shows did you make it to last week?

Oh, don't get me wrong, this place would have been a shitstorm. I'm just saying I would have moved on. Going to concerts aren't that important to me. I realize others feel differently.

And, two.

I'm not arguing with you, I just don't think it's so far out of line for people to be discussing a Wilco related issue on a Wilco fan forum.

wel i won't say i'm not bummed about the postponement, likely leading to my longest interval between live wilco shows since i first saw them in 1997. however, when i first heard the news it was by a cryptic text message while i was vacationing. my first thought was that someone was ill so i'm glad it turns out to be good news for the band at least. hope they rock it hard on snl.

Look on the bright side. At least they'll be touring this summer. And your ticket(s) will still be good.

I haven't seen Wilco live and in concert since 2003.
