MattZ
I think Dave's resolve to NEVER reunite just got cemented. Man, I really don't want to go tonight. Can someone talk this devastated Kinks fan off the ledge? And Crow, come on, I said I love you. I still gotta call em as I see em!
Winston Legthigh
Man, I really don't want to go tonight. Can someone talk this devastated Kinks fan off the ledge? Yeah, with the Kinks Choral album coming out (or is it already out?), and with a choir on the slate, it's not looking good for your show tonight. I on the other hand, will be enjoying John Fogerty live tonight.
mpolak21
Since ELO broke up, Jeff Lynne is the touch of death to any album... at least artistically. Even the hint of Lynne on You Never Know kills that song for me. --Mike

Guest Speed Racer
Son Volt is boring. +1 Jay has his voice finely tuned to a whine. I like songs here and there, but when he gets on his middle-America soapbox I really can't take it.
jff
Son Volt is boring. +1 and I'll raise you a Steve Earle. EDIT: And for that matter, Uncle Tupelo is boring, too.
Shakespeare In The Alley
That "You really Got Me" performance wasn't really that bad. I kind of enjoyed it, actually.
bjorn_skurj
And Cracker is boring too, but I don't know if that quite rises to level of blasphemy.
Guest Speed Racer
EDIT: And for that matter, Uncle Tupelo is boring, too. Jeff is enthusiastic enough, and Jay ironically young enough, that it works. If they had been older, they would suck all kinds of nasty, but given their ages I think that justifies most of their shortcomings to me.
bjorn_skurj
Don't everybody pee themselves, but I have never heard an Uncle Tupelo album in its entirety.
Guest Speed Racer
Don't worry; it's a lot like listening to UT on shuffle, only shorter. Or longer, depending on how long you listen to them for. March is the only one that ever sounded like an albumalbumalbum to me, and not just a collection of songs by these two guys with another guy and a few more guys maybe. Maybe the first two albums are somewhat interchangeable, but March is all traditional-like and acoustic and live and stuff, and Anodyne is just in another class altogether. Jeff's songs are completely different on the second two albums than on the first two.
The High Heat
I've taken to skipping Lay Lady Lay when it starts to play. I don't really care for it, nor do I understand the love for it.
Nobody Girl
I prefer I and Love and You to Emotionalism. (Granted, I have been listening to I&L&Y a ridiculous number of times since it was released and have heard Emotionalism just a couple of times.)
Plumplechook
Daniel Lanois is the kiss of death on any album he produces. There isn't an album he been involved with that wouldn't be better off without his ponderous trademark washes of synth and keyboards.
froggie
QFT. If he produced it, I probably don't want to listen to it. I hate that trademark Lynne sound. Cloud Nine and Full Moon Fever are both great albums ... but in my opinion, they would have been far greater albums without Lynne's heavy hand. didnt he sit in to produce You Never Know on Wilco's latest? Yeah, that song is pretty dreary. I love Dylan, but taking his entire catalog into consideration, he really does not have a very good batting average.

Oil Can Boyd
As much as I have tried to like him (and believe me, I have tried) I don't really like Elliott Smith's music.
