SonarSunset
Hey guys, my first post. Wickeeeddddd..... ? The show last night was beyond incredible. It was my first time seeing Jeff, and it totally made me life. Figures that damn merch table couldn't take cards... Lame...
theashtraysays
It was a really loose kind of show. In a good way. My first JT solo, and first show at the Vic. Fun place. I had no idea it was that small. I can't imagine the energy at the residency shows lat year. Or waiting in line 5 nights in Feb. Some of the things I recall.... After he played the community song, he said that it was a nice song, and that was the last nice song we would hear.. He relayed the story about his dad calling on the cell phone at the LRS... naked. Hate it Here translated reasonably well to acoustic. Jeff was lamenting about not having the band for that one. The tradition of the first 30 people in line picking the songs was continued, but Jeff was ripping on the geeks who would try to vie for the honor of finding the most obscure tune possible for him to play (B-side of a promotional 7" UT something or other...) "Which one of you parents is the one in the BMW who cuts me off in carpool line every day? You know who you are..." Kingpin acoustic is, well,... awkward. We heard a new song that Jeff said he wrote and which will be on the new album. Something about plastics trees... Major brain fart on Should Have Been In Love. "Most" of the other band members were allegedly there last night. I'm pretty sure I saw Glenn in the balcony box with Sue. Sue was made at Jeff because he did something wrong IN A DREAM SHE HAD ABOUT HIM. Jeff disavowed responsibility. You'll enjoy listening... saw one taper, and he said etree. Fun show. Time to get back on the road south... Vince

I had no idea it was that small. I can't imagine the energy at the residency shows lat year. Or waiting in line 5 nights in Feb. the residency was at the riv. but the kicking television shows were at the vic. god i wish i could have seen those. Kingpin acoustic is, well,... awkward. i thought it was great. it was fun and jeff was tearing it up.

Col. Hapablap
Terrific show! Lots of great song choices. I was sitting in the first row in the balcony, and i had my digital camera and caught some videos with it, which i will post somewhere either today or tomorrow. My battery unfortunately ran out of juice somewhere in the middle of Casino Queen. I was the one who requested Fake Plastic Trees, and i wanted capture that...oh well. *Admin note: Please do not post videotapes as the band doesn't allow videotaping. One of my favorite funny moments from the show which i dont think has been discussed yet, is that at one point, Jeff started talking about annoying his wife by singing his songs in a silly voice, using nonsensical lyrics, something like "cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha." He kept coming back to that during the show. I recall him doing that during the solo for Hummingbird and a couple other songs. Thanks to the Tweedys for all you do and for making nights like this possible!
Elixir Sue
also i loved hate it here acoustic & the sing along.Oooh, I'd love to hear that! It sounds like it was a really fun show. LETSGO78
What a great night! thanks for the post of the setlist picture. My request wasn't played, but at least my name was on the list. No one else really wanted to hear "Company in Back" anyway. Have fun tonight for those that are going.

what i once was
Great Show. Think I enjoyed it most of his best fundraiser shows-I loved Jeff's 'nerd' impression...could be derived from Judah Friedlander's Toby Radoff in film American Splendor???Wish I could attend tonight. Thanks Paul for setlist. And big thank you to Sue
Dude
Oooh, I'd love to hear that! It sounds like it was a really fun show. Kev, thanks for the calls during Simple Twist of Fate, Nothing'severgonna... and Summer Teeth!! I wish I could have been there. I was going to call you during Gun but I figured you were sleeping. Simple Twist of Fate was one of the highlights for me, We've Been Had (dusted off a little) sounded great, as did the acoustic Hate it Here.
tried and true
Community Song is the school song for Jeff's kids' school--one of the organizations for which the benefit was held. Last night was amazing. Simple Twist of Fate was truly the highlight for me! For those of you going tonight, enjoy...I'm envious. Wish I could go! Look forward to seeing a setlist. bcart12
Wow, fantastic show. Here are a fe of the better pics I took. Not a lot of light for my tiny camera with no flash but hey, not that bad. I also have about 12 songs I took video for and they are loading up on YouTube right now. I'm going to put together a file with pics and movies and load it on Sendspace so anyone who wants the original file can have them. Hey, the Community Song got me in the sharing mood. Thank you Sue and Jeff for an amazing night. I think I'm going to go again tonight. Enjoy!
