Me too! She gets so excited when Wilco gets news coverage. She is so proud of them! She even called me back afterwards for review. She said she particularly liked that they showed the "normal" side of rock & roll, that musicians can have a family and still rock etc. "You know, so much about rock music isn't very nice."

My mom is 80 years old. :wub Great-Grandma rock!

mymom is 82! altho i had to call her back she said she enjoyed it too and said the kids were cute. jeff looked so good, didn't he? i wish it was a longer segment but i can never get enough wilco. i love how they called us 'adoring fans' and i too hope in a way they stay our little secret but after this i don't know. the thought of sharing wilco with mainstream, i think i will be a little sad about that. am i being selfish?

That's awesome, thanks. I'm in the processing of grabbing it from Dime, but the download has gone from 12m remaining to 7h12m remaining. :pirate

Didn't they actually call us a cult? Where do we get the Nudie inspired hooded cloaks?

It was a cool little bit of exposure, but it seemed like the "Wilco are suddenly popular" narrative was totally forced, i.e. "Wilco is now appearing on Letterman" (have appeared on Letterman and the Tonight Show over a decade) and "Wilco are now in a car commercial" (commercial aired over two years ago) and "Wilco have a #4 album" (SBS hit #4, too)....

Still, their heart was in the right place. ;)

Neat piece. I liked the songs they chose to play snippets of. My only complaint is the mechanical way the interviewer said "Wilco," which seemed strange to me.

As for the complaints about Jeff-centered coverage, that's pretty much to be expected. He is the lead singer after all. The big articles will focus on him, and the rest of the band will get interviewed by more specific magazines (Nels by guitar magazines, and Glenn for drum magazines, etc) as well as slighter mentions in the bigger articles. It's not really a shock.

I saw, but did not really hear this. I spent the weekend in Atlantice City w/ my sis and sis in law, and they were talking during the interview. And if I had shouted., "IT'S JEFF TWEEDY,. SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT" it would have confirmed their suspiscion that I'm an obsessed stalker, so I had to resist.

Thanks for uploading. I missed it this am. I loved the music snippets (Satan, My Kingdom Must Come Down fer chrissakes!) and I thought the interview was very well done.

LOL. I expected to find all you "cultists" deploring the faux pas during the display of all eight Wilco album covers. In order, except for the YHF / AGiB flip. Good to see you cultists have a life after all. (Well, not all of us apparently.)

I noticed that and laughed, mostly because I was looking for it after it went A.M.-Being There and I was laughing at myself... 2 other things my crazy eyes/ears noticed: the crowd noise during "live" songs was fake and one of the songs, with a straight-on shot of Jeff singing in concert was actually the studio version dubbed over a live shot! :lol

I agree. I'd like to see more of the rest of the guys. Spencer gets more coverage. (CBS, RS and Spin)

Yeah, I don't really get why the media seems more interested in Spencer lately than they do in the rest of the band. Jeff isn't the first musician to be a good dad. It's great that he is, but I don't really feel like that's anybody's business. And I think it's a much less interesting angle than, say, the fact that every band member is involved with other musical projects. It's kind of weird that they didn't even mention any of the other guys by name, let alone talk to them. Then again, we have no idea how much was edited out, either.

I liked all the clips, though, and I do have to give the show credit for offering a pretty wide sampling of songs. I figured it would be W(TS) and one or two others from the new album, but Monday?! That was pretty cool.
