Terrific album.

Top five of the year for me.

Still waiting for it to grow on me a bit.

A little disappointing so far, but I am going to show some faith in Jarvis' talents and give it a few more listens. I am a fan of the man, in general. (And of Albini, as a producer/recording engineer.)

Understandable. Compared to Pulp, and Jarvis first (also excellent) solo album, Further Complications is a bit different.

But it has some classic lines that could have only come out of Jarvis' mind. I wouldn't let anyone else get away with an intro couplet like "I met her at the museum of paleontology / and I'll make no bones about it." The guy is fucking brilliant with words. Leftovers and I Never Said I Was Deep are incredible, and every other track is solid to great in my opinion.

I have a bit of a man-crush on Jarvis, but I think Further Complications is just a really well-done album, by both Jarvis and Albini.
