scribex6
Chicago's rock 'n' roll shape-shifters Wilco have formed their own label, dBpm Records, whose releases will be distributed and marketed by eclectic Silver Lake independent Anti- Records. A full announcement is expected soon. "This is an idea we've discussed for years,” Wilco's Jeff Tweedy said via his publicist. “We really like doing things ourselves, so having our own label feels pretty natural to me. And, to be working with Anti- -- a label that was started by a punk rock guy to sell his own records -- seems like a perfect fit for us.” http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2011/01/silver-lakes-anti-expected-to-sign-wilco.html
RainDogToo
YES! For some reason I knew they'd go with ANTI... Home of Tom Waits, Dr. Dog and other great artists! Good for them!

Shakespeare In The Alley
Hoped for a better label name (dBpm is a bit lame, not Anti), but cool news either way. From the few albums of theirs I have, Anti seems to excel in packaging. Always a good sign.

Smokestack Joe
the band recorded a album titled dBpm around the time of YHF. outtakes perhaps, unless my info is wrong.
Panther
dBpm... decibels per minute. It says "loud!" It a friggin ROCK label name! I think I like it. dBpm was the working titile for A Ghost Is Born, John Stirrat even painted a cover for it, you can find it in The Wilco Book. Seing as how A Ghost Is Born is Wilco's most art rock avant rock record or as i would refer to it their best record I am now slightly intrigued at the possible sound of the new record.Seems like Wilco may be upon a new age? a new evolution? The Nonesuch years pair down to this, YHF illi-NoisePoPAmericuna record AGISB aVANT rOCKamurika record SBS ROCKAMERICA record WTA PoPAMERICA record . m I write? Kalle
From my memory dBpm was a record they recorded at Jeff's cottage over a few days when the six piece band first got together, I believe that session was where this press photo was taken as well.

Shakespeare In The Alley
Eh, I'm not crazy about the name/word/whatever you call it dBpm in any context. But the label (and Anti being the parent label) itself is good news. Side note, that group promo picture has always weirded me out. Tweedy especially.
RainDogToo
I just noticed on ANTI's homepage, under upcoming releases, they have Wilco: TBAComing January 1, 2012
lost highway
I wouldn't pay too much heed to that date. The catalog number next to the album is 00000. Maybe I'm just hoping it will be a few months sooner.

deepseacatfish
Anti has definitely released some solid material, seems like this would be a good fit for Wilco. We'll see. I'm definitely interested in what the next album sounds like, but I'm equally curious to see if they sign any bands to dBpm.
KevinG
maybe with the new record label WB/Nonesuch will put out the B-Side compilations people have been clamoring for.
