Chez
I saw Matthew a few years ago at City Winery in Chicago. He sounded great, but looked horrible. Until he started singing, I wasn't sure it was him! Of course, I don't look so hot myself.

jff
Seeing them for the first time Saturday! Let me know how it is?! They were better than they were when I saw them in 1992, and they were great then. I was not expecting to see a contrabass saxophone on stage. Very ambitious show. Stellar setlist. I was not expecting to see a contrabass saxophone on stage. Very ambitious show. Stellar setlist. They opened up for the Grateful Dead at Buckeye Lake the previous year. I didn't go but reports from those who did were solid. My wife got me back into them a couple years ago....
calvino
My wife and friend saw the Femmes back in July in Chicago - they both enjoyed it quite a bit. Neither of seen them since the early 90's and thought they still put a great show, though they were not familiar anything post 92 or so.It was a benefit show for Coalition for the Homeless. Might have been having an off night. They slayed yesterday, Maybe they don't go over well in a festival setting. Most bands don't, imo.
