u2roolz
I think that the band decided to put the bonus track on the cd, but as a hidden track. This way it causes 3 months and up 20 pages of discussions about the morals of the band. Consider it part of the deluxe special edition.
you ever seen a ghost?
are you saying they did but the vinyl as a bonus on the CD? you mean hypothetically, correct? -justin
Scott Gyrrr
Does anybody else not like extra tracks tacked on at the end of an album? When the album ends I don't want it rolling over to some bonus track no matter how good it might be.
Green River
Does anybody else not like extra tracks tacked on at the end of an album? When the album ends I don't want it rolling over to some bonus track no matter how good it might be. Yeah, when I listen to an album, I like to listen to the finished product, exactly as the artist intended it to be. I usually put the bonus tracks in some other music folder on my computer. Likewise, I wouldn't want to watch a movie, and then have the deleted scenes start playing right after the final scene of the finished film, ya know?

Likewise, I wouldn't want to watch a movie, and then have the deleted scenes start playing right after the final scene of the finished film, ya know? I've heard it put that way before -- in Pitchfork's review of the UT reissues. "I'm the rare bitch who resents bonus tracks. They violate the sequencing of classic albums; imagine how a film's coherence would be disrupted if the "deleted scenes" played right after the denouement..."
Cam Jones
I feel like bonus tracks are defiantly an extension of the record. When the last track plays, it usually feels like some sort of closure.I like what the EELS did for one of their records. They added about 15 seconds of dead space before the bonus track started playing. you can ALWAYS make a playlist of just the album.
Sparky speaks
From Amazon, the CD has two discs... http://www.amazon.com/Whole-Love-Deluxe-Wilco/dp/B005EHNMWM/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1313415322&sr=1-2 Product DetailsAudio CD (September 27, 2011)Number of Discs:
rhino4evr
Bonus tracks depends on the album...for instance The Suburbs has a definite beginning and end and the recent deluxe edition that has two bonus tracks completely ruins that flow. If it screws up the flow I usually just put them in a second folder and label it "B-Sides"
choo-choo-charlie
Got the email update from Kung Fu with a few more [tantalizing?] product offers, including the Wilco koozie, which looks more like a beer sweater than a koozie. Either way (ahem) it's $10 for one. Pass. If it were a set of koozies, for $10 I'd do it. But not for one. And I don't want a yo-yo.
u2roolz
Oh great! The koozies can double as condoms for the forthcoming plaster casings of their you know what.

I just saw my local brew-pub is selling can koozies, although they don't sell can, just bottles................. But they are only $2.50 a piece, not $10!
choo-choo-charlie
I've seen can coozies too. Made out of the same soft foam rubber-ish material as the ones for bottles. Never seen them KNIT though. Maybe that's why they want 10 bucks for each...
theashtraysays
I was really hoping that those koozies were made by a bunch of Wilco gramma's in the Kay-Settes Knitting Club from Boise or something like that. Alas, according to the website it's a group of hipsters in NC. Or they're all made in China and the whole thing is a marketing ploy. Really, you never know.

Sir Stewart
Huh. I should write them. I ordered the vinyl only ($25) and the shipping was indeed $9.80. Thanks for the heads up.

Albert Tatlock
Did the deed yesterday. Pleased to see that there was the double 'extras' CD available right up front on initial release, and without any extraneous bits and pieces, so maybe someone listened to my earlier grumbling.Ta very much. Scott Gyrrr
Whats the deal with pre orders on itunes? Is it cheaper than buying it on release day or are the bonus track's only going to be available with the pre order?

Is it cheaper than buying it on release day or are the bonus track's only going to be available with the pre order? The iTunes version should always have all of the bonus tracks -- that's the way it's been with other albums from Wilco and other artists. The AGIB 'Tour Edition' in the store still has 17 tracks on it.
Scott Gyrrr
What i mean is should i pre order it or just down load the deluxe version the day it comes out? Is the only difference that i hand my money over sooner?
sonicshoulder
I might pull the trigger on about 6 of those Solid Sound bottle openers. You can't have enough $40 bottle openers laying around the house.
choo-choo-charlie
Doesn't matter. Any time I've done an iTunes pre-order, they don't actually take the money until I've downloaded the product, which will remain the same regardless of when you order it. And they're certainly not going to run out of it either.
