gogo
The last one, for reference: http://viachicago.org/topic/44974-now-reading-in-the-new-new-new-year/ I'm really getting into this: Started "The Flame Throwers" by R. Kushner this morning. I may dump it for E. Leonards "Be Cool". We'll see. Great new collection of short stories by Tom Perrotta. Thanks for posting that - I just added it to my library queue. He keeps getting better.
gogo
Right now: Next: which has a chick-lit cover, with a Franzen blurb. We'll see...

Moss
Going for the classics and have Dostoyevsky's The Idiot going right now. Brothers K to follow I enjoyed brothers K but my daughter has so far scared me away from the idiot. I may dive in anyways.
calvino
I think the Idiot is my favorite of his (almost used the name Myshkin as the middle name for my oldest kid) - Demons close behind. Brothers K is still on my frickin list to read, after numerous attempts.
John Smith
I try to get through a couple classics every year in addition to my contemporary reading. Loved Crime and Punishment and decided to take a deeper dive. So far I'm about half way through and am still not certain what is going on.

This one is/was on my list, but I've heard a couple of people say recently that it was too much of a slog, definitely NOT worth it. So I was reconsidering. But, you say better than The Secret History... hmmm...
