Politics 2016 (election edition)

If I recall correctly, Trump mandated spreading vaccines out over a longer period of time. I doubt there's any indication that it does any good, but that doesn't make him anti-vax.

I guess if that makes you feel better about voting for him.  To help your memory, this is what he said on the matter: https://youtu.be/Ms3jvef4HaQ?t=1m21s

"I'm in favor of vaccines; do them over a longer period of time, same amount but just in little sections and I think you're going to see a big impact on autism."

But that ascertain is bullshit and dangerous.  http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/fact-check/2015/10/16/donald-trump-spaced-out-vaccines-reduce-autism-fact-check/72828934/  But regardless, he is perpetuating the the case that vaccinations cause autism.  They do not.  Science has proven that.

But here are some other statements by Mr. Trump on vaccines.

Healthy young child goes to doctor, gets pumped with massive shot of many vaccines, doesn't feel good and changes - AUTISM. Many such cases!

I am being proven right about massive vaccinations—the doctors lied. Save our children & their future.

Clearly his rhetoric is anti-vax.

Trump is not Jenny McCarthy, what he says on the issue matters.  He is looking to lead the free world, he is looking to shape our nation's health policy.  This is something not to take lightly.

Also, that vaccine quote source is from September 2015. Trump's opinions have a sell-by expiry term shorter than yogurt.

:thumbup

It was said in a GOP debate, so you would think it would have sticking power.  Cause you know one of the reasons for debates is put forth your ideas so voters know who they are voting for. However, he did hire Dr. Ben Carson as an adviser, so for all we know, Trump is going around and giving vaccines out at his rallies.

Excellent current book on Autism (and the vaccination connection to Autism/Asperger's ):

Anyone else feel like all the attention the media is placing on Trump (bad or good) is helping him? Even the smallest thing he does gets reported and has a panel of 4 to tear it apart or applaud.

It all helps him. I feel like the only thing that could bring down Trump is if he converted to Islam.

Unless the conversion was part of the negotiations to get a huge deal for America.

I wonder if the whole veterans benefit thing will do anything.

http://www.npr.org/2016/05/31/480163943/questions-over-trumps-donations-to-veterans-boil-over

What is interesting is how thin skinned this man is. Regardless of how and when the donations came in, how he reacted to this shows what kind of man Trump is. This is now on display again. This is how he deals with people who are tough on him, by complaining and calling names.

This is the person who the GOP wants to be president. A person who when things get tough, resorts to childish behavior.

I'm extremely bothered with his rhetoric regarding the Trump University case and the judge hearing the case. He is using his platform to try and bully the judge, he would like nothing more than to undermine the judiciary.

I think Trump is naturally thin skinned, but it's exacerbated by the fact that he surrounds himself with sycophants. Anyone disagrees with him, he goes on the attack. And he clearly perceives the judge as an attacker. He would be a nightmare as a president.

I've probably beaten this dead horse before, but I don't see how anyone thinks he's remotely qualified to be president. Couldn't he have run for city council first? Alderman? Mayor? Even governor or senator? The argument for him seems to be that he's a businessman. Okay, but he's a demonstrably shitty businessman, and besides, a country is not a company.

God help us, we might be stuck with him.
