I have been using tables and chairs to do that since I was a kid. I have learned over the years that women in particular find it rather annoying.

Me too! I like playing my conga that way (between the legs rather than upright) but it slips out a lot and/or requires a lot of pressure from the thighs to keep it stable. That cajon looks perfect in terms of convenience in playing it.

Weir seemed to be feeling it that night - yikes. Never heard him sound like that.

This was a fun night, with the only GD "Stir it Up" (besudes the Stir it Up Jam at Cap Center a few years later). It's not the complete song (Weir obviously didn't know the lyrics) but it was a fun little goof around for a few minutes:

Weir, Billy, Mickey (and Popper and Woody from Cheers)play at tiny club for Sundance. Anybody know what that percussive box Billy is playing is?

I might have told you this before, but a very close friend of mine from HS became one of Woody's pot dealers while they were both in college together (the same school my Mom went to, but dropped out and had me instead lol). He turned out ok - (Woody, not my friend).

Ha, no I don't recall you telling me this. I've got a Blues Traveler connection, too, to match yours.

There are a lot listed there and in some type of foreign language, too. I'm not sure I like the ones with the stands as much as the ones you just sit on.

Come on, it's not Martian or Swahili. Anyway, it's played between the legs and sine qua non gear for many latin and flamenco groups (not my thing, but still). It's played putting it between the legs and some are very expensive, and sound fantastic. Mickey Hart sure knows better...

I got a notice it had been sent. The length of time between a notice and having it in my hands has varied a bit over the years. I think the earliest was 2 days, the latest about 10-12. It's not easy - I try to be a patient man.  :lol

Listened to Disk 1 last night - definitely sounds nice. This show will be perfect for road trips with the wife/family  - lot's of tunes, without the long meandering jams (I seem to be the only one who enjoys a 35-40 minute Dark Star)

New Pure Jerry (Milwaukee '91) show coming out in March:

Sweet! The only time I ever saw the JGB was the night after this one in Minneapolis. Only time I had first row seats to a show. Lucked out as a guest of a friend. We were tripping balls that night.
