It's a shame they're all sold out, I really want to see Cryptacize.

I may be interpreting it from a wrong angle, but "is this actually good or the best available today" strikes me as an unhealthy way to approach or assess music. It implies some invisible standard that all records are compared to, which strikes me as unfair and inherently disappointing because music and record-making is gloriously all over the map. It conjures a world where the 1 to 10 scale actually works, and not only does it work, but music isn't as good as it was in 19 something something so we have inflation at work too! I'm not accusing anyone of actually saying or implying these things,

This thread title is very violent. If they actually sold Wilco's most gullible fan an $87 cdr of a record, sure they're crooks, but a choke slam? what is a choke slam? exactly what it sounds like?

i really like the melody.

Apologies if this was mentioned before, but at overthinkingit.com, a writer is watching Lost from the beginning, never having seen it before, and overthinking it. It's a lot of fun so far. Early on her theories are eerily accurate in accounting for future developments, and even when they aren't, they make you think. Also, the episode recaps are hilarious. Episodes 1.0 to 1.7 Episodes 1.8 to 1.15 Episodes 1.16 to 1.22 Episodes 2.1 to 2.8 Episodes 2.9 to 2.16 Episodes 2.17 to 2.24 Episodes 3.1 to 3.8

I stood in a record store a couple days ago mulling over the I'm Going Away LP against The End Is Near single. I heard the album online a couple times with mixed feelings. The single has the three best tracks off of it, plus something I never heard, for half the price of the LP. I left without either, because if Widow City taught me anything, it's that the Fiery Furnaces take time (used to like it okay, now love it). Anyone else listening to the new one? The middle section still seems like a lull to me especially since I get anxious to hear "Lost at Sea", but I'm getting more confident about g

Yes. Very yes, I'd say. I've seen them at least once every year from 04-08. In some ways they've been getting better, but in other areas the sound has become cluttered. I think they practiced restraint much more before SBS than after. I like them all, but six is a bit of a crowd. In response to the original post, I still haven't seen Ashes , and I haven't heard Wilco (The Album) :o, but I listened to SBS today and i think it's a great album. The only thing it suffers from are a few so-so songs (by Tweedy standards).

Like top-of-the-charts popular music? or music meant for the general public? Because I believe the former has turned into a marketing scam, while the latter has only improved since the 1960's.

This hurts my brain!!! Strange that earlier today, I stumbled upon this photo http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Eg7K8tnyPqk/ScC3...SCF1243_2+2.jpg Hurley! -

The intro to "This song is the mute button" is hilarious, and then the song is heartbreaking. "Ghost of my Old Dog" is the standout for me so far. -
my response hinges on whether or not there is an additional photo of Wilco sitting in the chairs, because that would be awful.

it's $5 today on Amazon mp3 store, just downloaded it myself. on first listen, it's good, a few standout tracks, but i like Strawberry Jam better.

Thank you, this appeases me to some extent. There was a hit in Guam? That would make sense. Again, I don't have a problem with Hurley being on the plane (great lawyer and millions of dollars and powerful people wanting him there) but logic tells me that though he didn't commit the murders, yelling "I killed them all" would send him back to the loony bin, which he was already fugitive from.

after season three, i got annoyed at how obvious and clunky some of the dialogue was written to keep us in the dark, but it was easily forgiven because then some of the best episodes came about. The last episode had a little too much to disbelieve. If they give bail for serial-homicides, Hurley could have paid it, but you'd think after admitting to murder to the police, they would have locked him up in jail or the asylum. A ghost-visited Hurley could've told cops about Sayid, leading to his arrest, but 1. It would take a group of ninjas to capture Sayid 2. Why would they take him to Guam? It
