  1. Speaking of bootlegs, I am waiting on the below to get in from my library system - heard good things about it.
  2. I heard on the Elizabeth Cook XM show that Snider has a book out too ---- have you read it Lammy? She recited at story of him meeting a fellow songwriter who wrote a song called Beer Run, too - it was a pretty funny account. (Need to the above link when I get home)
  3. I listen to some of the soundboard of this show on the archive and in this case I prefer the audience recording.
  4. Listening to the below this morning --- great audience recording (Grateful Dead Live at Edmundson Pavilion - University of Washington on 1974-05-21). Billy sounds great in this mix -- really can hear his cymbal work. I am not sure if I have this at home (I am listening to the show via crappy work computer speakers) - probably sounds even better blasting on through a stereo system. https://archive.org/details/gd1974-05-21.sonyecm18n.lee.miller.98822.sbeok.flac16
  5. A friend just bought a ticket for me to see Weir w/ Ratdog and Chris Robinson Brotherhood when they play down in St. Louis at the end of August --- they are playing at the The Fabulous Fox Theater - always wanted to catch a show there - in the shows that I heard, the Grateful Dead played some great shows there in the early 70s. Plus it will be nice to finally see CRB.
  6. That's looks pretty cool and I didn't know that they were doing the same with their I.R.S. stuff (and I am all for the digital only release method)
  7. Haim at the Riv. - of all groups --- don't think I ever went to a show like this, before - the wife is smitten, so off we will go.
  8. Some new "crooning" by Dylan --- okay song, I guess. Sounds like he is really ready for Vegas stint. "Full Moon & Empty Arms" http://www.bobdylan.com/de/home
  9. Indeed, great version on the Deadicated cd. Great request.
  10. Listening to 6/9/91 - Buckeye Lake Music Center. I had this show on tape shortly after the show and loaned it to to someone a few years later and never gotten it back -- finally downloaded it and it is definitely as good a show as I remembered. Nice He's Gone and Ruben. Solid throughout. Never been to Buckeye - looks like a cool venue from pictures. Also happy with the latest Dave's Pick -- parts of 12/12/69 was in the first batch of tapes that I ever got. It wasn't the best sounding/transfer so it is nice to have a great, clean copy.
  11. Over the last two weeks I have checked out Kill em All, Ride the Lightning, Puppets, and Justice from the library --- I haven't listened to them in probably over 20-25 years --- it was a fun listen --- I even noticed my wife tapping her foot while Justice was blasting in the car. I can probably wait for another 20-25 years to listen to them, again - though.
  12. Pepe: I love you, Papa Homer. Homer: I love you, too, Pepsi.
  13. Well he does brood like that Dylan McKay character - I'll give him that.
  14. Can Bright Eyes be considered a "supposed great band", though?
  15. I swear you must be their manager of something... They seem to never make it down to the South suburbs -- would try to catch them if they did.
  16. I think my favorites are In Dubious Battle, Winter of Our Discontent, and Travels with Charley.
  17. One of the few Steinbeck books that I haven't read, yet. Haven't read any Steinbeck in a long while - need to revisit him, soon.
  18. Thanks, Cold as Gasoline.
  19. I wish they (Jagger/Richards (w/Wood) were writing music -- Wood's 2010 record was pretty good.
  20. Same here --- we are trying broken egg shells and coffee grounds to combat it - the tulip hatin bastards.
  21. Some more Weir praise. http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/culture/2014/04/grateful-for-bob-weir.html?utm_source=tny&utm_campaign=generalsocial&utm_medium=facebook&mbid=social_facebook
