I never could get into Piper, for some reason - I do enjoy Saucerful of Secrets, though. It would be great if they do go the Dead route and start putting out archival stuff - I suppose there is still time for them to do this at some point. It seems like they are all getting along - alright, enough - to sit together in a studio and listen to the stuff together. I guess they have been putting out these box sets (Immersion sets, I think they are calling them) - I think some of the sets have some archival concerts, included.

Oh - that's just silly. Though they never did hide the fact that they want to make a hit record, so they could make lot's of money. I think they talk about it in the Pompeii movie (think it was Gilmour, too, during the recording of Dark Side). I never have a problem with Gilmour and the rest keeping the Floyd name and carrying on, though I was just starting high school when Momentary Lapse of Reason came out (which I enjoy), so I did not have that much vested in the argument. I remember my older friends/sisters not liking the idea, though. Enjoyed Delicate Sound of Thunder upon its release,

Yeah - I will be ordering it, too. That 1st Spring 90 set has grown on me over the past year or so. It should sound better than the first set - too - they will be using the 24 track mix for this set, which good. It is fuckin pricey, though - but what isn't these days. Being on the Europe 90 tour would have been something -- great story Bosco.

I recently found some blank tapes in my basement --- I thought of taping it, but I now I only have an old Sony boom-box - so I am not too sure how well it will turn out. I have a family function to attend, so now I will not be going to to the show anyway - so I might as well try it. I will be more than happy to send you a cassette ---- guess it will it be the master tape, too - since I have no way of dubbing tapes, anymore.

Found my own wallet once--- on the way to work one morning, it must have dropped out of my pocket in the morning (about 5:15am) and landed on the curb in front of my place when I was living around North Ave and Western in the city - it was still there when I got back home at 3:30 pm.

I cheated and looked it up --- it did trip my memory once I read it. Was at the last one - didn't really enjoy it, much. Anybody ever seen Terrapin Flyer -- Chicago band, who plays around the country a bit. They are are playing the Abbey tonight - thinking of going. I guess Melvin Seals and Mark Karen have been playing with them a bit, but I don't think they will be there tonight. I heard some of there stuff on Archive - it's sounds okay.

JS interview - Autumn not a ‘side project’ from Wilco
calvino replied to Albert Tatlock's topic in Just A Fan
Kinda like retainer fees --- I wouldn't think so, either. I am not sure what money would be coming in (with the exception of royalties) for the rest of the band members. I would think they get a big chunk from touring and recording. Wonder who handles their insurance or if the a 401k plan? -
Why are you surprised that Comiskey does it right? Went to game a few weeks ago, but only had a hot dog --- wanted a Polish, too - but felt I didn't need it.
-
Forgot about it, too.

Has Roger and Pete ever gone on tour -- just the two of them? I wouldn't mind that show. Enjoyed the Bargain.

Another one I have listened a few times recently was their 'Live at the Hull 1970' release - real good stuff.

Now Listening to Who Are You, again - I think this still is my favorite studio release of theirs.
-
Yeah, got that one too --- my favorite, by far. Guess they re-released the DVD - not sure if it was an upgrade from the original release or not, though. I have the cd release too - haven't watched or listened to it in a while. Checked about the Vegas Job -- my library does not have it - thanks for the YouTube info.
-
Yeah - I owned that one, plus Thirty Years of Maximum R&B Live dvd. Need to see if the system has the Vegas Job release.
-
I have been on a huge Who kick again - I have never seen them, live. Over the last week or so, I have watched all the below dvd's. Really enjoyed the Live in Texas 75 one. Not to mentioned I listen to the Deluxe issues of Who Are You, My Generation, Who's Next, Meaty Beaty. I even listened to Face Dances, again. Hooligans (my first Who cassette, I think) is waiting to be picked up at my library.

My knowledge of him was always in connection with Stones --- him and Ronnie were good friends, of course they covered It's All Over Now, plus he sang back up on a few Stones records. I always assumed he was older then the Stones - but he was actually younger then them, though he had couple of years on Ronnie. Nice story behind It's all over Now - via wiki.

Well the thread lasted longer then we all thought it would -- guess we can call that progress....

Caught Ratdog in Chicago, last year -- I enjoyed it quite a bit. Saw a bit of webcast last month and enjoyed that, also --- like the two bass attack and Kimock fits well, too. I never minded the slower tempos of Ratdog --- as long as it went somewhere - the tempo's never bother me. I have seen some boring Ratdog shows, though. Will be catching them (with CRB) at the end of August down in St. Louis - which I am looking forward too.

Is it taboo to ask about Speedracer
calvino replied to Chinese Apple's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
She sent a bunch to me, also --- she made the offer to many people on the board, right after Bennett's death. -

Agreed, both are missed --- jules could be dick (at times), but a funny one and every board needs one. I just reread the Bennett suing Tweedy song parody thread last month or so -- that was fun read, mostly thanks to Speedracer. -
I thought Blair Jackson stopped writing for Dead.net - nice to see him back. Probably will catch the film. I have the show - it was part of the Complete Europe 72 set - I think I only listened to it once - need to give it another listen. Pretty poor camera work on the this one by Lemieux, which is kind of funny.

Someone uploaded the Wembley show again a Dime yesterday - last night, I watched up to the acoustic performance - it is very clear that everyone on stage was completely fucked up. Actually, Neil looked the least f'd up. It was fun to watch, though. Need the watch the rest of it tonight.
-
Hoping my library system gets this set --- I wouldn't mind hearing and seeing it, but I don't think I would spring $ for it.

I read Cutler's book - but don't remember the Still's particulars.
