  1. It's always nice now-a-days to actually have something for this thread: Die Like a Dog Trio (Peter Brotzmann, William Parker, and Hamid Drake)
  2. Wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts--- I haven't gotten around to grab them yet - not sure if I want to buy yet another copy of each.
  3. It was okay -- Nels had a nice solo on the above Lovelight - but Franklin's kinda went nowhere --- thanks by the way - I didn't know anything about this show, until I saw you post about it --- only caught Sugaree on. It was kinda cool because I was able to find channel on my Roku device, so I was able to watch it on my TV, rather then the computer.
  4. Very well could have - he only played on the two song encore -- must have been pushing 12:30am by the time he hit Ratdog stage.
  5. This is the way I view the Grateful Dead legacy, also -- so many various eras that are completely different from each other ---- it all depends on my mood on any given day what I want to listen to. It's great that a band evolves over time and (hopefully) keeps you interested to listen to the current incarnation and have the options (via boots) to visit the past.
  6. Listening to this one while at work today and this one's a doozy ---- not sure if I ever heard before. (esp. as you mentioned - that Laminated Cat)
  7. During my broadcast (in Chicago) they had a nice little interview with David Lemieux during a break in the movie. I happen to turn it on for about 10 minutes or so.
  8. Listening to 6/4/78 ---- I am assuming it's Mickey on the motorcycle going into NFA --- typically Donna doesn't bother me, but she is a bit much during the NFA, even for me --- though the "all over the place levels" on the source doesn't help, though I guess it's hard to temper a women wailing into a microphone. Great, energetic show. https://archive.org/details/gd1978-06-04.sbd.cantor.miller.94407.sbeok.flac16
  9. Are captured audio webcasts typically lossy?
  10. Are webcast's not allowed on etree or other torrent sights?
  11. What back album cover was Love on? My sister- in-law is a big Petty fan - her and my brother see him quite a bit, but I never gotten around to going with them (though I am fan) --- wish I would have saw him back in the 90s, prior to the rise in his ticket prices. They will be seeing him again this summer in Chicago.
  12. Below is an old link to 'Bennett's Best Shows'. I assume many of the ones mentioned in the below link are at Owl and Bear or So Out of Tune. http://viachicago.org/topic/40180-bennetts-best-shows/?p=1336368&do=findComment&comment=1336368
  13. Though I only went through the set once, I am a bigger fan of the Deceiver box set, which consists of 73-74 shows (which is without Lake) then the Court record, which has Lake.
  14. I hardly ever listen to King Crimson ---- I can never get past the vocals --- but over the last few days I have been listening to Court and the Great Deceiver box set. The music is great --- the vocals/lyrics not so much.
  15. All this time I always assumed the Peach Festival was in Georgia. Does any member of the band still live in Georgia?
  16. From the just the little bit of some the new video's that I watched here at work -- they do look and sound great. I assumed the Dead signed off when they signed the contract for Bill Graham concerts they played --- that Graham owns the rights of the video ---- but I could be wrong.
  17. I haven't been to the site in ages, but I believe it is a paid site now ---- It was nice when it was free --- they definitely have some good stuff. Lot's of ABB.
  18. Ha! - I came here to post the above (crap - damn page break) ---- If Graham Archive's put it out - why would it be taken down? I would think they own the rights, so they can do what they want.
  19. So how was the Phil show --- only heard bits on the the ustream, before Nels joined the band.
  20. Agree - I saw Kimock with his solo band about 12-13 years ago and it was pretty boring. I thought he sounded great with the last Ratdog show I saw, though --- definitely does not do any 'ripping' solos, but that's fine by me. Really enjoy the two bass attack (once I found Rob W. in the mix) I am bit disappointed the Rich is playing a far northwest suburb of Chicago, when he passes through the area, and not it the city, proper.
  21. This most recent incarnation of Ratdog played well this past tour --- they actually had a little punch.
  22. I agree with the above, not sure why people have to give them grief --- if you don't like it or care for them, just don't go to the shows (like I don't). I think those words should be attributed to Rob Barraco --- I don't think Eaton was part of the interview - though in typical Jamband writing style, it's hard to figure out -- but Rob talks about playing with Phil. Must be a bit tough to have three dudes in one band name Rob.....
  23. I used to get them with the two corn tortillas, but at times they didn't hold up too well - they hold up much better with the flour on the bottom.
