  1. Crow - seems like you were right to "panic" about the Rangers in the beginning of this year.
  2. Phish fans have always been like that it seems (even going back to the early 90s) -- very over- the-top opinionated --- at least from my experience and perspective. Back in the 90's they always had the Dead to compare them to -- which always got annoying. Since last year, I have been enjoying listening to Phish again --- after taking about 15 years off.
  3. Regarding Snider --- he first record is still my favorite of his. Listened to a Chicago, Park West Hard Working American show, (off the archive https://archive.org/details/hwa2014-02-22.mtx.teamdrink.flac16) - it is a fun listen --- it is nice to hear them sing a Bottle Rocket song and the way he sings Gillian Welch's Wrecking Ball is great. Regarding his story telling - noticed that the below is up on Dime - it is a five disc set. (That Moondawg story is a good one)
  4. I though Phil's book wasn't all that great. Blair Jackson's Garcia was pretty good -Dennis McNally's was just okay, too. My favorite Dead related books is the Gear Book and the three Deadhead's Taping Compendiums. Miles' autobiography was very entertaining and I do find myself going back to Dylan autobiography quite often - I think the part when he writes about the making of Oh Mercy is my favorite part.
  5. Last week or so I finished Todd Snider's "I Never Met a Story I Didn't Like" --- funny as hell. I not all that familiar with his music - but the book kept my interest --- quick read, too.
  6. Meaning that you don't do anything - like me? I have been seeing the same doctor for the last 15 years or so ---- I see him about every 1 1/2 to two years for a check up/physical and he always likes to play -- "do you want to know what you weighed when I first started to see you" game and rattles off my weight in two year increments and has a good chuckle. (but to my defense, my check ups has always been great - so he hasn't been too concerned) At least I use to play softball during the summers -- this summer I didn't even do that ---- though that means my beer consumption has been down.
  7. I am on the wait list with my library for I, II, and III remasters.
  8. I think I would be more inclined to purchase if there were more live stuff.
  9. For some reason the extras on the ones released already and these two, don't appeal to me --- at least enough for me to purchase. Am I missing out?
  10. I would say yes. Bootleg 1-3 is probably my favorite Dylan release. It's a must have.
  11. Way to thread-crap - knotgreen. Nice - was wondering if they were going to do some warm-up gigs, prior to Lockn' fest.
  12. Yeah - I guess the name of the game is who puts "the butts in the seats" and pay accordingly - which of course makes sense.
  13. It's a man's world, I guess. I would think Emmylou would have gotten paid more than Tweedy - I would hope at least. Guess, Tweedy may have better management/agents.
  14. I guess I wouldn't have signed a contract without guaranteed payment, either. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-tweedy-taste-contract-talk-0725-20140724,0,2659317.story For some reason reading a rider is always amusing for me:
  15. Caught some of his show last night on XRT --- always enjoyed his music - just can't get past his vocals, though --- it sounded like he wasn't even singing into the microphone. The fiddle fitted in nicely and banter was full blown rock star style - which was fun. His shout out to the Empty Bottle was pretty cool. Seeing him a the 'somewhat' small Chicago Theatre must have been a blast.
  16. WXRT will be airing and streaming tonight's Jack White's Chicago Theatre show -- it should start around 9pm (Central) http://wxrt.cbslocal.com/2014/07/18/xrt-concert-exclusive-hear-jack-white-live-from-the-chicago-theatre-this-wednesday/
  17. Forgotten Space is playing in Chicago this Thursday - will try to catch them. Only $12 - too - which is good.
  18. Ha! - I put on my off-blue polo shirt that I had for over 20 years or so on this morning (I call it my Bob Weir Shirt) --- will be catching a Dead tribute show tonight, so I figure I dress the part. I did catch the show last night -- thought it was great -- That Saturday Night was great -- really trying to push the "single". Jerry of course played great, through out. It was great to see Pigpen perform, though it was a bit sad, due to his appearance - hard to believe he was only 26 at the time it was shot. Also it was great to see great footage of Jerry's Alligator guitar - though the actua
  19. Just watched this again earlier in the week for the first time in ages --- man he sure did rip it up good -- made it look so effortless, too. Was always one scary looking dude. Use to play the hell of the below when I was in grade/high school.
  20. I thought maybe he banned you, because you were listening too much and soaking up too much data and worked his servers too hard.
  21. I believe he replaced Klose in the match, too --- which I thought I was interesting when Gotze scored.
