  1. Way to thread-crap - knotgreen. Nice - was wondering if they were going to do some warm-up gigs, prior to Lockn' fest.
  2. Yeah - I guess the name of the game is who puts "the butts in the seats" and pay accordingly - which of course makes sense.
  3. It's a man's world, I guess. I would think Emmylou would have gotten paid more than Tweedy - I would hope at least. Guess, Tweedy may have better management/agents.
  4. I guess I wouldn't have signed a contract without guaranteed payment, either. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-tweedy-taste-contract-talk-0725-20140724,0,2659317.story For some reason reading a rider is always amusing for me:
  5. Caught some of his show last night on XRT --- always enjoyed his music - just can't get past his vocals, though --- it sounded like he wasn't even singing into the microphone. The fiddle fitted in nicely and banter was full blown rock star style - which was fun. His shout out to the Empty Bottle was pretty cool. Seeing him a the 'somewhat' small Chicago Theatre must have been a blast.
  6. WXRT will be airing and streaming tonight's Jack White's Chicago Theatre show -- it should start around 9pm (Central) http://wxrt.cbslocal.com/2014/07/18/xrt-concert-exclusive-hear-jack-white-live-from-the-chicago-theatre-this-wednesday/
  7. Forgotten Space is playing in Chicago this Thursday - will try to catch them. Only $12 - too - which is good.
  8. Ha! - I put on my off-blue polo shirt that I had for over 20 years or so on this morning (I call it my Bob Weir Shirt) --- will be catching a Dead tribute show tonight, so I figure I dress the part. I did catch the show last night -- thought it was great -- That Saturday Night was great -- really trying to push the "single". Jerry of course played great, through out. It was great to see Pigpen perform, though it was a bit sad, due to his appearance - hard to believe he was only 26 at the time it was shot. Also it was great to see great footage of Jerry's Alligator guitar - though the actua
  9. Just watched this again earlier in the week for the first time in ages --- man he sure did rip it up good -- made it look so effortless, too. Was always one scary looking dude. Use to play the hell of the below when I was in grade/high school.
  10. I thought maybe he banned you, because you were listening too much and soaking up too much data and worked his servers too hard.
  11. I believe he replaced Klose in the match, too --- which I thought I was interesting when Gotze scored.
  12. It's working for me. I am not sure if matters, but I am using Firefox.
  13. Each one has something to offer - I would pick the one with shortest line.
  14. WXRT just confirmed no TWEEDY or Lucinda Williams show.
  15. All this time I thought all the Ramones were related -- what a dope. They are always fun to listen to.
  16. Can't imagine what the lawn is going look like - actually I guess I can.
  17. Not sure why Karan isn't in Ratdog - but Kimock has fitted in nicely. Weir was back the next night --- everyone who wanted refunds for the Weir no-show show got their money back, too - which is good. I don't think I could have taken a whole night of Lane singing. I am guessing they will be releasing all the Spring 90 shows individually - like they did with the Europe 72 shows.
  18. I never could get into Piper, for some reason - I do enjoy Saucerful of Secrets, though. It would be great if they do go the Dead route and start putting out archival stuff - I suppose there is still time for them to do this at some point. It seems like they are all getting along - alright, enough - to sit together in a studio and listen to the stuff together. I guess they have been putting out these box sets (Immersion sets, I think they are calling them) - I think some of the sets have some archival concerts, included.
  19. Oh - that's just silly. Though they never did hide the fact that they want to make a hit record, so they could make lot's of money. I think they talk about it in the Pompeii movie (think it was Gilmour, too, during the recording of Dark Side). I never have a problem with Gilmour and the rest keeping the Floyd name and carrying on, though I was just starting high school when Momentary Lapse of Reason came out (which I enjoy), so I did not have that much vested in the argument. I remember my older friends/sisters not liking the idea, though. Enjoyed Delicate Sound of Thunder upon its release,
  20. Yeah - I will be ordering it, too. That 1st Spring 90 set has grown on me over the past year or so. It should sound better than the first set - too - they will be using the 24 track mix for this set, which good. It is fuckin pricey, though - but what isn't these days. Being on the Europe 90 tour would have been something -- great story Bosco.
  21. I recently found some blank tapes in my basement --- I thought of taping it, but I now I only have an old Sony boom-box - so I am not too sure how well it will turn out. I have a family function to attend, so now I will not be going to to the show anyway - so I might as well try it. I will be more than happy to send you a cassette ---- guess it will it be the master tape, too - since I have no way of dubbing tapes, anymore.
  22. Found my own wallet once--- on the way to work one morning, it must have dropped out of my pocket in the morning (about 5:15am) and landed on the curb in front of my place when I was living around North Ave and Western in the city - it was still there when I got back home at 3:30 pm.
