Help out with some of the health care for their own employees, rather then us taxpayers/insureds, would be nice. Perhaps if they and all the other huge companies did, perhaps we wouldn't need the ACA. If some doctors didn't legally abuse Social Security, perhaps we wouldn't need ACA. If insurance companies didn't end insurance on people who became sick or didn't offer it to people who were 'likely' to become sick, perhaps we wouldn't need the ACA. All the above do these actions to make money for themselves and their shareholders --- which of course is legal, right, and 'just' --- and all

Me too - Hixter's picture just looked like a bowl of meat (it does look good, but doesn't look like 'chili') Is it even possible to make a veggie 'Texas-style chili'. Not sure what you would use as meat substitute. I or my wife uses TVP in our chili --- but I use beans and tomatoes, etc....

Speaking of getting through book - I have read every Dostoyevsky novel over the years, with the exception of The Brothers Karamazov - I must have started it 5 times over the last 20 years and haven't gotten passed page 100 or so ---- one of these days I am going to get through the mother. I have read my share of Hemingway, too - but never gotten around to The Old Man and the Sea.

I am interested how Norman will handle the audience recording. For the most part I think Norman has done a good job, so hopefully he utilizes the audience recording, accordingly. I, for the most part, avoid matrix recordings that I come across, because I listened to some that were not done well --- I am hoping Norman does a good job. The concept of a matrix is fine with me.

I believe the Clark bit is from the Vacation (Chevy Chase) movies --- with regards to if you believe in capitalism -- the market will correct itself soon enough.

I'm good with 8 - interesting that they are using an audience recording, too, with the board tape.

Hunter sat in on Buddy Miller & Jim Lauderdale's XM radio show this past week. Hunter and Lauderdale write together -- it was a pleasant 2 hour show. Hunter played the way he originally wrote Black Peter's melody with his words ---- it was a "happy song about a person dying", which of course Jerry change into a "slow, sad song about a person dying"---- thank god, because Hunter's original pretty much sucked. The original China Cat melody wasn't too good, either --- of course he praised Garcia for his song/melody writing ability.

I'm guessing Casal didn't play it. The show is up on the archive. http://archive.org/details/furthur2013-10-05.mk41_flac24

I agree about 71, perfect intro year.

That Saturday (10/5) show looks great - looks like Neal Casal and Jonathon Wilson (separately) sat in -- probably will grab it if it pops up somewhere. Would you know if Casal played the Wolf guitar, by chance?

Not sure if the below was posted before -- nice, long interview with Hunter --- it would be fun to watch a Nine Inch Nails concert with Hunter. http://itrandomtime.blogspot.com/2013/09/an-interview-with-robert-hunter.html?spref=fb

I thought about the whole Coffee Creek/Bottle Rocket release, too. I pre-ordered the discs from Bloodshot - I don't have any Bottle Rockets stuff. Enjoyed that Indianapolis tune.

I almost got trampled by a moose - needed to get behind a big tree as it bum rushed me.

I thought I heard that was edited out a bit more than the widely circulated bootleg -- though he is still in there quite a bit.

I thought the Acid Trips footage with Cassidy was a bit out place in the movie - the movie was shot in 72 - long after the Acid Trips' footage was taken. Obviously I get the connection, but I would have rather had more concert footage or crowd shots. Though I think the filmmakers ran out of film, thus they had to use the Acid Trips' footage.

I believe that is in the works. http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/09/11/breaking-bad-spinoff-better-call-saul/

I would have been bummed if Jesse didn't get out alive - of all the characters, Jesse seemed the 'most innocent' and showed the most sympathy, growth, and sorrow for what he had done. I would like to think he overheard where the Nazi's hid the money and I wonder if he will come around and find it and use it for his own benefit, I would doubt he would, though. He has learned a 'great' skill, if he ever needs money again, though. I am glad Walt, Lydia, and the Nazi's met their demise.

I was completely fine with the episode ---- hopefully Jesse finds some solace. It was great to see Skinny Pete and Badger one last time, too. I was really happy that Lydia found her demise and the Grey Matter people found their feet on the fire.

Left Hanging: Netflix/Breaking Bad
calvino replied to smells like flowers's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
That's how my wife and I watched this season after catching up --- well worth it. We did the same with this last season of Mad Men. It's also kinda cool that it's saved and you can watch each episode again. -
Like the Vol One, bit. Hopefully Dylan has another 4 -8 albums in him, then he can release Vol Two.
-
I think the above shows is where the Wolf guitar is played at a show or two --- does suck that there is now CD release.

"A lot of it just went by in a blur" Wonder why.
-
Exactly my thoughts, too.

Lammycat - did you catch the Furthur show with Branford Marsalis?
-
^^ There you go - perfect.
