  1. Go, Go White Sox! One thing going for them going into this year - it can't get any worse. Still surprised they got rid of Addison Reed - the only bright spot last year, though he did blow some games, too.
  2. Now I am really wishing I would have spent the dough and saw them at the Chicago Theater last summer - of well --- hopefully this year will be their last hurray and they can just release a bunch of archival stuff in the future; I don't see a point of seeing them with other band members at this stage of their career.
  3. I thought it was pretty funny, too -- The actual title of the episode was "Let's Stay Together" --- the writers should have went with the "Whiter Than a Wilco Concert" --- I think the episode was all in good fun....
  4. I guess so - he's alright (actually didn't realize he was up for the first time, too) Thomas had a pretty nice press conference a bit ago.
  5. Happy for Maddux and Thomas - both deserving of their first year nods into the Hall.
  6. 7 years does seem excessive. I am glad they did sign him, though.
  7. Plus, I remember seeing images of Garcia on the back drop screen during some tunes in the late 90's (at least I think I did). I think during No One Left to Run With.
  8. I think the Idiot is my favorite of his (almost used the name Myshkin as the middle name for my oldest kid) - Demons close behind. Brothers K is still on my frickin list to read, after numerous attempts.
  9. Are you sure it wasn't a Dickie Betts interview?
  10. I think Jerry called Gregg a narc for testifying against somebody (a manager?) in a drug case. I don't think Greg liked that too much.
  11. Has anybody listened to the San Fran Betty CRB shows? The entire run is up for sale , flac. Thinking of getting it -- the price for all 5 shows seems okay.
  12. Listening to 12/30/78 tonight -- very nice show. It's kinda interesting that this show is in LA and not at the Winterland --- looks like Tom Petty got the 2nd to last show at Winterland on 12/30/78.
  13. I remember reading at the time of the Winterland release, if they made video better - the audio would have suffered, at least that's what they were saying when people started to complain about the video feed.
  14. I forgot that I have the below - really have to be in the mood to listen to it, though, which is probably why I forgot I have it. Definitely going to download the Garcia/Weir release, also I agree, I wish they would put the OOP stuff up for download.
  15. Can't remember if he put anything on it - I always tried not to look.
  16. When my grandpa was still around, every Christmas Eve, our family would get together (Santa visited us cousins) and we would have cold cuts and Chicken for dinner - my grandpa would always have a tongue sandwich.
  17. I just had a kale salad this afternoon with my veggie burger --- if you are ever in Chicago, head to Bandera on Michigan Ave - excellent pairing.
  18. Can you use my super strength to silence a talker/video taker?? Regarding invisibility - I would use it to get on stage to so I could watch Nels feet and hands alot closer. I might use it to get into a show where I tried to get a ticket but got shut out.
  19. Yeah - that's one of the ones I read --- plus in a "Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins spilt up" story: (why I find this humorous - I don't know - I know it's not funny, esp. since the children involved, at least I think so)
  20. Misunderstood your previous post - my bad. For some stupid reason I Googled Robbins and Wilco Concert and others verified your story --- who hasn't fell over at a concert at least once? It's pretty funny that a PM was sent, if was really him.
  21. Who was the band - if you don't mind saying - I don't want you to get another angry PM from Mr. Robbins.
  22. I was lucky enough to get many Pure Jerry releases when the Borders in my neighborhood closed down - for 70% off. One my favorite music buying scores. Pure Jerry: Keystone Berkeley, September 1, 1974, Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders Band, 2004 Pure Jerry: Merriweather Post Pavilion, September 1 & 2, 1989, Jerry Garcia Band, 2005 Pure Jerry: Hampton, Virginia, November 9, 1991, Jerry Garcia Band, 2006 Pure Jerry: Lunt-Fontanne, The Best Of The Rest, Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band/Jerry Garcia Band, 2004 I also have the below - I think the 78 release is my favorite. Pure Jerry: Warner The
