The below are notes in the db.etree listing. http://db.etree.org/lookup_show.php?shows_key=94254&show_users=true

Since you waited this long - you should have just waited for 2029. Just put it on hold in my library system. I don't think I have ever checked it out, before. Be cool to see the Grateful Dead's performance. Finally got the below through my library system and watching now. Is there a better band to get you through an aftermath of a derecho and when you just learn that the start of school for your kids got pushed back a week, due to covid ---- our school had two options - hybrid and remote --- we chose all remote from the start, figuring we all would be remote in a month --- it didn't even

Those of you in the path of the derecho...

Put me in the lucky camp, too - no damage and very little power loss. Many of friends in my village are still with out power and lost trees. It was crazy for about 15 minutes - then sunny within a hour or so. -
Crosby's thoughts on Garcia were much better than Nash's. https://variety.com/2020/music/news/jerry-garcia-grateful-dead-graham-nash-remembers-1234728260/

E-gads -- that Eloy play was plain horrible. Still love the guy, but man, get your head in the game when playing the field.

Got mine today. Really enjoyed the Feel Like a Stranger opener.

So now I found another link of the above link that I posted and it lists the show as "Lou Reed performing live at the Théâtre St-Denis in Montreal, Canada on the 13th of August 1989." You didn't happen to keep a 'sonic journal' (a la Bear) and jot down the date of the Lou Reed show that you saw on on your 1st trip? It would be a bit funny if you watched it a black and white TV, all along. My TV in the 1st half of the 90's was an old black and white, which I got poked fun at for. Even had tin-foiled rabbit ears. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUiDLepxgvI

Nothing for me, either. I did get a shipping notice - but the notice only stated that it was processed - no shipping date given.

I think you are thinking Chris Slade who played with AC/DC -- I don't think Slade ever played with Reed, though. From what read, Robert Medici played drums on the New York tour. The only picture I can find is not very good. I wonder if the below is what will be released on the DVD - Lou Reed - New York Album - live on TV 1990 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JevqIVGPR1A

I got into Bukowski in my late teens/early 20's -- I reach for him every now and then and to me he still holds up - esp. his poetry. Mockingbird Wish Me Luck is still my favorite. From his later years The Last Night of the Earth Poems is up there for me. With regards to his On Writing book - it's mostly letters and like many authors, he harps on how he thinks the current writers' writing stink. It gets old, after a while. Though they are entertaining. The Drinking one includes more stories and poems, plus letters - so it is a more enjoyable read.

Its been awhile since I read 'ol Hank. Finished up the writing one and now onto the drinking one.

The cassette is a nice touch.

Below is the link for the drive-in-show. Kinda stinks that it is an only 18 and over show - guess they don't wan't a bunch of 16 to 18 year old showing up in their cars - would have loved to take my kids to the show, though. https://www.seetickets.us/event/Sept-18-Live-at-the-Drive-Inn-Jeff-Tweedy-Band/413640 It kinds interesting that the are listing it as the Jeff Tweedy Band.

As a 8 - 10 year old - I found the show very strange.. My p's were teenagers in the 50's -- my dad especially, got a kick out it.

Use to love watching Sha-Na-Na when I was a kid.

1st show was John Mellencamp in 88 - 15 years old. Still one of the the best concerts I ever been to. Mellencamp had a killer band and really knew how to command an arena. 2nd show was the next year --- the Grateful Dead at Alpine on 7/19/89 - two different ends of the spectrum --- both equally great.

I listened to the High Time one - definitely a great listen.

Ugh -- my kids are doing full remote with live instruction, at least for the 1st quarter. Our options were hybrid ( 2 days in school / 2 days independent study / 1 day remote with teacher) or full remote. The teachers in our district have the an option to teach fully remote or in a classroom. We had a school board meeting yesterday and it appears that community is pretty much 50/50 on remote and the hybrid. One of my kids has allergies and asthma -- during the fall, she pretty much appears to have all the symptoms of Covid-19 every morning - it would be impossible to sign her off every

Thanks for the rec, looks like an interesting read ---- just put it on hold at my library -- though having a hard copy on the shelf may be more apt. It would be great if the US could get behind a requirement for every kid to take a Black History and a Black Literature class in high school (or at the very least, colleges) -- though I don't see that happening in the foreseeable future. I was history major with a minor in English ---- the Black history/literature courses I took were great and very eye-opening. Other than actually befriending members of a different race/culture -- the onl

Thanks -- spent about 10 seconds looking into it an just coming up 'a type of rock' ---- a pretty interesting listen --- don't think I will revisit it often, though. Other news - the Fare Thee Well shows will be streamed (kinda crazy that it has already been five years) this Sunday. Probably will try to watch the the July 3rd show, which I thought was the best of the run. https://fans.com/

Just started to listen to it now. Anybody know the meaning of 'slated' and 'not slated'? Guessing it's studio jargon. Hopefully they do the same for American Beauty.

Pretty cool news: https://www.oneillinois.com/stories/2020/6/30/john-prine-posthumous-illinois-poet-laureate?fbclid=IwAR3fz_Vu5D6-pBd3h5deuHwbIjT0g15FFrRFrpTX0MxY3O0Dlyelkts1pNo

That's a shame - seen him when he was in Dylan's band a bunch of times.

False Prophet should be great live --- a nice way to open a show.

Bit bummed that it is a 71 show and not a 70 show. At least, I will save some money... The latest Dave's Pick is definitely a great one.
