I guess I don't see your point. Do you think the above notion is lost on those in Madison and the rest of the country, who are fighting for what the earned? Definitely something has to give on both sides, but I don't think it's right to presume that people who are fighting for their own worker's rights don't realize that private sector workers (which includes me) are also hurting.

I was always too much of a chicken to do any of that ramp stuff.

I did flip over my Scrabbler's handle bars and got a concussion. Spent a couple nights in the hospital. Did they even make bike helmets in the early 80s? At least I missed a few days of school.

I think Teddy Roosevelt did and I kinda think Reagen did, too. Maybe not specifically state union workers though, which is probably your point.

Well I definitively wasn't tough looking, I was a small, skinny torpe , though I always wore a flannel and jeans like my older sister's friends. Mine had a chain guard, too. Always hated getting my jeans stuck in the chain. I googled The Raleigh Chopper, I forgot all about those - man that was some bike. My brother first bike the the Tornado.

Except mine was black and had a padded seat (always hated the hard plastic ones). It was around 78/79. I was the last among my friends to get a bike, I couldn't part with my big wheel. A few of my friends had a Huffy Bandit.

Unfortunately, he has a lot of bad habits - money management being one of them. Obviously he didn't really start rolling in the dough until the late 80s or early 90s, but still he should have more money. I browsed over it (at my local Borders, none the less) - it seems like it could be read in one rainy Sat. afternoon. -
As for the people of WI views on things, I guess it should be noted that Feingold (a pro labor senator) was voted out, which I think was rather unfortunate. But I think the union/gov't workers have a uphill battle on persuading their fellow Wisconsinites.

On his latest show he talks about how him and Jagger wrote "No Use In Crying" while they were in Linda Ronstadt's cupboard in Malibu. Being a Stones geek, I enjoy these types of stories. It seems that Wood is one of most affable rock stars - it seems he played or partied with everyone. I haven't gotten around to read his auto-bio, yet. -

Finished The 42nd Parallel and now into 1919. Great stuff. The book has been on my shelf for awhile, glad I finally started to read it. The whole concept works well.

Are you just now realizing this?

That's great news - I finally gotten around and ordered the disc this morning.

I'm curious to know what site you upped the show at? Did you tape it? -
It's a Grateful Dead thing, of course people are complaining (this is not directed at Vacant Horizon). I haven't seen them, but I heard bit's and pieces of shows, they sounded okay; don't think I would spend money on seeing them. Actually reviews have been more favorable than not on most on the boards.

Looks like a good set list. For an encore, they should have done Blues for Allah and dedicate that to Egypt. Of course "blues" may not be apt.

Whipping Post definitely sounded different in the show I heard - it wasn't bad, though. I think that song lends itself to some rearranging every once in a while. I also don't have any of his solo stuff. Friends of mine always catch his solo band shows over years when he comes to Chicago, I haven't though.
-
It's a pretty decent show, the interviewer (though kinda hot) is not the best. I didn't catch the episode with Allman. I did listen to one of Greg's solo shows a few weeks back (on XM) - it sounded pretty damn good, esp. the horns.

thanks for the above and below.
