Someone posted some of the Destroyer Studio Sessions up at Hunger City. Does anyone know if they really wore their make up in the studio? Or was this for a photo op.

When I was ten years old (or so)I traded with my cousin my copies of Dynasty and Rock and Roll Over for his Rolling Stones' Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass). I don't think I ever topped that trade. I just noticed on allmusic that Anton Fig did most of the drumming on Dynasty. And for the life of me I don't remember how Kiss's cover of 2000 Man was - I did not even remember that song being on the album. I do like this cover, though.

That would be great. Only saw them once at a Lollapalooza, the year they broke up. Wished I would saw them at a club.

The state of Illinois has Blago - he just happens to live here. In the Chicago area he had less votes in the democratic primary for governor against Paul Vallas (and Roland Burris) in 2001-02. He won be getting the vote down state. Sorry for the rant, it just still bugs me. Anyway I back the bid, I am sure it is going to be rough putting on the show, but I think it will be worth it. Will there be corruption - of course. But I think it will be exciting as hell.

Do you mean this guy (see below). He is on XM/Sirius. I listened to him sometimes on the way home from work. He does play a lot cool tunes. Thanks for the links: Two things that jumped out It would be interesting to hear Lemieux's take on the latest Rhino news. I thought Grateful Dead Productions did do a good job before they sold the rights to Rhino, obviously there were more releases once Rhino took over. I understand (I guess) why the Dead did sell the rights, but (upon hearing the news about Rhino) it's gotta be a kick in the gut to Lemieux and the rest of the GDP team. I haven't heard the JGB with Hopkins until recently, either. A couple of incredible sounding audience tapes were up on bt.etree a few weeks back. They are still seeding, but if you don't do the torrent thing, you can send me a PM I can send you the discs. Great recordings and Hopkins plays great. I am looking forward to the official release. I am not sure for how much longer, though. It should be interesting how this plays out. I assume the Warner Music Group will maintain control of the Grateful Dead catalog if Rhino completely dissolves. Hopefully they will keep up with the releases. Perhaps this is why Rhino has been pushing out a large number of Dead releases while they could. I whole heartily agree. But people are showing up for their gigs and I can't fault the band for trying to make a decent living. I agree, but I guess he must be a pretty good impersonator with some skills, thus I wouldn't call him a hack.

I wouldn't go as far as calling the dude a "hack", but I do not get the whole DSO thing either. Like I wrote before, I only saw them once in the late 90's, so they were just starting out, but it was a bit boring. Obviously they have a bit of a following, so they must be doing something right. I would prefer to throw a tape on if I want to hear a particular Grateful Dead show. To each their own. I haven't listened to either of the Further shows, yet.

I just think that troll picture should be banned, yikes. The closest Wilco/Dead resemblance I can think of was when Wilco actually took set breaks, "like the Dead"(as Jeff said), during the Residency shows, as suggested by the V.C. board. They always have be taper friendly, too. But when comes to the music --- none.
