Maybe if he changed it to The '4 Years' They Drove Old Dixie Down - I'd like it better. (Technically it took 3 days less than 4 years - never realized that the Civil War dates were so tidy and concise - Apr 12, 1861 – Apr 9, 1865)

I think that's the problem with their take on The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down - it always seem to plod along. The version of Moonlight Mile on that 3/6/76 show seems to hit right mixture of 'drugginess' - the harmony singing is great and Keith really shines.

"Class Act" - reminds me of Dahl's sports machine -- one of his best bits and he came up with it in his 40th year....

Found the below via the Thoughts on the Dead site - written by Jesse Jarnow. A nice read. The Invisible Hit Parade: How Unofficial Recordings Have Flowered in the 21st Century https://www.wired.com/story/invisible-hit-parade-live-concert-taping/

Yeah -- the way people ( like Lammy - I kid) are talking, the HOF is meaningless now because Baines got in. Kinda crazy. I always enjoyed watching Lee Smith pitch, too. I am sure Reinsdorf and La Russa did a lot of lobbying for Baines.

Listened to the below show this morning via gdsets.com. From the get go with Tore Up, Garcia's guitar playing is especially good - some great rocking, while being bluesy, playing . Great set list. I never cared for their take on The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down - regardless of what era of JGB is playing it. Though I always have been a huge fan of the original version. Man, people are sure upset about Baines getting into the HOF. I guess I can see their point - but I am happy for him. I remember in the early 80's trying to hit lefty, so I could hit like him -- never was really successful, but when I would connect it was usually a screaming line drive. Baines and Ricky Henderson were my favorite players growing up - complete opposite personalities.

Great Bears game last night -- man the defense looked amazing. Hopefully, Trubisky was just rusty from having 2 weeks off.

Yeah - House of Cards was a complete waste. The wife and I sat down to watch another episode one night and realized the season only had 8 episodes. We watched the 8th one about a week prior, never realizing it was actually the last episode.

Looks like Betts is recovering nicely. Looking forward to the Rather interview - I thought Rather's interview with Gregg was great. From Relix

I could have swore I was at a 90's Dead Soldier Field show and during space they played some Marv Albert announcing 'he shoots and scores' bits - this would have been during the 1st 3 Bull championship run (91-93) Can't seem to verify that via google, though.
-
I don't think I ever heard him do a game ---- though 90% of the time I watch football, I have the volume on the TV off and have music playing. Football announcers bug me for the most part.

I think the Bears will pull out a win in at least one playoff game --- guessing it will come down to how Trubisky handles the playoffs. Man, Cutler was insufferable...

Yeah - my brother-in-law is pushing 60 and is die-hard Viking fan - I enjoy ribbing him, but I do feel bad at times. His garage is decked out with Viking stuff - it cracks me up every time I venture up there for a visit. I look forward to the Rams/Bears game - hopefully the defense rebounds a bit and Trubisky comes back strong. Wish it was a noon game, though - not a big fan of night games.

I guess they could have went without a keyboardist for at least the tour that was booked prior to Brent's death, like they did when Pigpen was absent a bit, but I am guessing that was never an option. I seem to remember hearing that Brent was going to have issues going to the Europe for the fall 90 tour (due to legal issues) -- I wonder how they would have handled that, if Brent would have lived.

The below was in the subject line of a Pitchfork email that I got today - I chuckled a bit. -
I tried to get tickets for their Licks' Chicago club gig - at the Aragon, but had no lock. Aragon has a much larger capacity (5,000) - plus it's not the best venue for sound. It would have been cool to see, though.

They played a surprised show in Chicago at the Double Door in 97 - I can't say I was hip enough to hear rumors or if I was I forgot - but a month later, I moved into an apartment that was a couple blocks from the Double Door, it would have been fun at least to hang around the club during the show.

Well, he will be in Buenos Aires soon enough --- many Nazis fled to Argentina after WW II -- (that Nazi comment is just a completely random statement - sometimes I just want to make use of my History major, since I never used it in my real life, just being in the trades and all...)

Thanks for the code -- I was trying to get tickets for my brother-in-law, but nothing was really great popping ups so far. So we are going to wait until tomorrow. Esp. since I already have tickets for Friday.
-
Which club show did you catch? My best seat/venue I ever saw them in was Alpine Valley in 89 -- we were about 25 rows back dead center. All the other times was in large arenasdomes or football stadiums.

I saw that the Keys' doc was on AXS last night, but didn't have time to watch it - looking forward to it.
-
Looks like they added a 2nd show for Chicago on the 25th.

WXRT is having another pre-sale tomorrow at 10 am (central) - their code will be - cloud

Don't know the bears code - the stones one is midnight - though I am guessing you knew that.
