That's cool of them. Saturday's line up actually looks the best of the three. Lot of great musicians will be there on Saturday.

Definitely got more publicity doing it at Pitchfork, rather than Solid Sound, also the band may have not been ready - rehearsal wise - to perform it at Solid Sound; plus the record may have not been completely finished.

Keith's new single --- pretty good. Like Waddy's slide tone. Video is kinda cool, too. http://keith-richards.tumblr.com/post/124559414353/keith-richards-trouble

I only watched it once - but I seem to remember Glen taking an actual solo between two of the Star Wars' tunes -- while they were changing guitars and such. Could be wrong.

I was at one of my niece's b-day party over the weekend - my brother and brother-in-law discussed Back to the Future and its anniversary for about 15 minutes. I have watched the first one countless times over the years, but I don't think I ever watched Part 2 and Part 3 in their entirety.

Didn't realize you were visiting the Chicago area - at least I didn't think you lived up here --- Only made it to one of Fulks' Monday's shows - I know Louie and bbop has been to plenty. Hideout is a great venue. That night I saw Fulks, his theme was “Bitter Ex-Beatle Band Night” - - he performs songs like "How do you Sleep" and various solo 'bitter' Beatle songs - it was a fun night.

Agreed. Must admit though - I thought boys, in general, got the short shrift in the film --- I realize that the main character is a girl - but every time "feelings" and "boys" came up in the film, the boy's feelings were a bit empty and had zero depth. I guess I am talking about the ending and closing credits. Perhaps Inside Out, Two will have a boy as a main character. I guess I should mention I took my five year old son - so I am coming from that perspective. Both my son and three old daughter were thoroughly engrossed in the film, though, and my son kept talking about for it for long wh

I thought the below was funny:

Saw Inside Out with the kids --- it's a good one -- Sadness sure bugged the hell out of me - which was the point, I guess. Not sure if is my favorite Pixar movie, though. I think my favorite is Up - hard to pick though.
-
Black Sabbath's, Black Sabbath just came on the radio (XM)--- I think this my favorite metal tune - it has it all. Still remember getting the cassette when I was in grade school - I think it took me two or three trips to the record store to get it, due to the cover - it always freaked me and my friend out. Perfect cover.

Jagger's voice has changed a lot since the Exile sessions - so his overdubs didn't fit at all -- on the Some Girls overdubs it was less noticeable or at least not as out of place.
-
Just listened to Disc 2 of Sticky Fingers this morning again while picking up around the house - indeed good stuff. Another thing - can't find my Some Girls deluxe cd - haven't listened to that in awhile. Seem to remember enjoying Disc 2 of Some Girls more so than I do disc 2 of Exile.

Anybody make it to the actual fest - curious if the crowd was receptive to the band and the new record. (I only caught the stream). My wife and I found it humorous when Tweedy wagged his finger at the crowd, with regards to the glow sticks.

For the Sunday Dead show I brought along a sixer of Firestone Easy Jack - it was pretty good. Definitely happy that more and more brewers are shipping cans, esp. for the summer season.

Wilco — 7/14/15, Morrison, CO (Red Rocks Amphitheatre)

Way to get Wilco to release a new record, bbop! Bravo! -
What it comes to the whole Spotify thing it isn't about the money --- everything else, sure. I don't get it either - I use Spotify when I am at work -- through shitty computer speakers --- even his Pono system will sound sucky through typical computer speakers. I would say keep stuff on Spotify, which is easily accessible to many, who then may go out an purchase his Pono system stuff (I never head anything from Pono) if they enjoy his music.

I believe him when he wrote it's not about the money, but rather quality of the stream.

Kinda figured he would go the route - kinda surprised it did not do it sooner. I have listened to his stuff on Spotify while at work.

It was 6 shows --- I am not sure they played anything during the run, that they didn't play again at some point during the tour --- it just that they had 6 nights to play - so they were able to vary the set lists from show to show -- by the 5th and 6th shows they started to do some repeats - which was fine by me. Does anybody know if song was played during the Winterlude run and not played again during the past tour? It seems like they were playing some 'deeper cuts' throughout this past tour. (for some reason I hate the phrase 'deep cut').

I think the Dead have history of bad 1st nights, 2nd Nights, 3rd Nights, etc...of runs. I think you may on be right track though - thinking over my shows, that seems to be the pattern for me,too -- I seen the same amount shows you have. From an energy stand point - it could have been me, though -- up till late the 1st night and up early for the 2nd show, to start again. Perhaps it same for the band. By the third night - I usually got into a groove. This was the case for this past 4th weekend.
-
Winterlude = Dec, 2014 Chicago Residency. Played a lot of the 'deep cuts' off the recent box set - which made it cool for me. A little acoustic encore which was fun.
-
I was kidding about the UT --- agree I thought the two winterlude shows I saw were great.

It seems that Son Volt has run its course, too --- guess it's time for a reunion...I am sure Heidron can still play. A Fall theater tour (billed the "From the Ashes" tour.) will get both Tweedy and Farrar back in shape and rekindle the Wilco and Son Volt's flames for 2016 - Somebody needs to send Margherita a letter.

Only have the Legacy reissues of Brothers, Sweetheart, and the Live at the Fillmore - Feb, 1969 --- I think I enjoy the Fillmore release the best - Clarence White is something else. Need to check out some more stuff from the library. I thought there was a Byrds thread at one point.
