Amazing record, I love Wreckroom and Wanted. I'd give the slight edge to the self-titled, but both are excellent and in my opinion stand along side the best of Wilco and O'Rourke's solo stuff. --Mike

Yeah he's amazing, that Merry-Go-Round set that Joss recommended is essential as is the self-titled. --Mike

Eh.. why not? I dig the post first of all bhickman, though our opinions differ on A Ghost is Born which is probably my second favorite album they've done (if not my favorite), it was a great read. All right here's my take AM: B- BT: A- ST: A YHF: A+ AGIB: A+ SBS: B+ (I could see this growing into an A- though in time, I think Ghost would have probably started at a C+, and it really grew on me) Mermaid Avenue Vol. 1: A Mermaid Avenue Vol. 2: B- The Wilco Book CD: B Side Projects: Loose Fur: A Born Again in the USA: B+ Down With Wilco: A (yeah this is better in A.M, in my humble opini

Wasn't there but this show circulates and that's the setlist I have for the bootleg. Someone requests Chinese Apple a couple of times, you can hear it on the source, would have been great to have heard that with the full band. Another audience banter highlight there is some kid yelling at O'Rourke "you're a mighty motherfucker Jim!" Great show. --Mike

SBS Preorders: Put your MusicToday bitching here!
mpolak21 replied to lost highway's topic in Just A Fan
I still don't have mine yet, I pre-ordered in March, got the confirmation e-mail last Friday. Looks like I might not get it in time for it the bonus live show, so yeah I am not using Music Today again. --Mike -

Happy birthday Jesse, have a great one! I will watch Bob Egan fall ass backwards into a snow tonight in your honor. --Mike

Great post, great points and an even better avatar --Mike

I've been eagerly awaiting Miles' solo record for quite some time, here's hoping he recovers and godspeed to him on getting the new record out. --Mike

Love is a Mix Tape might be the best thing I've read all year. Also kiddos to Sheffield on the Pavement reference, I knew Side with the Seeds reminded me of something but I couldn't place it. --Mike

This version is pretty rocking, I like the guitar sound on it. It still kind of sounds like Jet on steroids, but it kicks ass. --Mike

Another vote for You Forgot It In People, it's masterful. I love Feel Good Lost, it's perfect studying/bedtime music for when the Eno isn't quite doing it's job anymore. The self-titled is pretty good, but it's probably my least favorite of the three. --Mike

Love the band, Anton is clearly on another level, Greg Shaw isn't too far off when he implies he's a megalomaniac in Dig!, but he's written some fine music and any band with a tambourine player (Joel was my avatar for the first half of the year) is all right by me. --Mike

Excellent, here's hoping these shows go a little better than some of the band's previous nights at Shepherd's Bush Empire. --Mike

That was a pretty good read, there was a bit of tension, but it actually made things a little more interesting as by this point Tweedy is probably getting sick of being asked essentially the same five questions in every interview. --Mike

Looks like we have another excellent Wilco B-Side, I hope this one shows up on the setlists this summer. --Mike

And a Kotche, too. Man this band is loaded. --Mike

Here, Here. He's always been excellent with the site, and it's clear he's spoiled us a bit. I'm sure he'll have the new set lists up eventually, just be patient. All of the set lists are up in the After The Show thread, anyway, I know it's not quite as convenient, but they are there. --Mike

Saw them for the first time in Pittsburgh on June 21, 2003. I had gotten into the band heavily the year before, I had the fortune of seeing the 1999 ACL and getting Summerteeth from the library a couple of weeks before Yankee Hotel Foxtrot came out so I got into them very rapidly. The show that night was great they played everything from YHF except Radio Cure, and I got to here early versions of Muzzle of Bees, Kicking Television, Spiders and At Least That's What You Said. While I missed out on seeing perhaps my favorite live song that that lineup did "Not For The Season" I certainly didn't le

9.0 (the lack of the word "are" keeps it from perfection). Still that was hysterical. --Mike

After traumatic events I always find myself reaching for Foxtrot or Ghost is Born so even though I've certainly had moments, especially recently where I haven't wanted to listen to anything (and anything I did listen to really just sounded like the drone, except for the drone of course which kind of sounded like Vera Lynn's "We'll Meet Again, but I am digressing here), I always find myself coming back to Wilco. There's an amazing healing power for me in a lot of the songs and especially the full albums. There's a message of hope in the face of trauma that's pretty inspiring. I should also a
