  1. This might be the only thing I don't understand in the policy here, we've never had any problems with Trade Vines of JHamm DVD's not all of which are pro-shot or authorized by the band, but now linking to YouTube videos isn't allowed? I don't see the harm or the problem, but alas I am not making the decisions. --Mike
  2. Here's the first semi-critical review of a Wilco album I've ever seen from Popmatters (they loved AGIB and SBS): Popmatters Wilco The Album Review. --Mike
  3. Ah... the back half of the first disc of Being There: What's The World Got In Store, Hotel Arizona, and Say You Miss Me feels a little under appreciated. --Mike
  4. Fine choices, but I've always felt Hell got a lot of love. --Mike
  5. I wish I was just a little older and had a chance to judge him without the scope of the allegations and charges ultimately coloring my perception of him, it took me a long time to appreciate his music, because of it. I still hope somewhere he finds his peace. --Mike
  6. This just shows such poor taste and judgment on too many levels to even get into it. I'll leave it at that. --Mike
  7. . Missed this the first time around.
  8. I am pretty sure Vivino sat in with the band in 2002 when they played I'm The Man Who Loves You on Conan, it was the first time I had actually seen the YHF era lineup, I remember being bummed afterwards when I found out the dude playing acoustic guitar in a fedora wasn't actually with them. --Mike
  9. I love that album they put out. Enigk might be just behind the Buckleys in terms of voice power for me, I'd listen to him sing the phone book. I kind of like the Fire Theft and his solo records, particularly Frog Queen a little more than Sunny Day, but Diary is certainly awe-inspiring. I might be all over that Minneapolis date. --Mike
  10. I'm contractually obligated to say "Immediate disqualification because of association with The Big Chill." I know you understand. I would also have that song at my funeral. Hey Jude would also be just about perfect. --Mike
  11. Here are two things I found in the print archive, thanks to nutnhunee. Magnet June/July 2002 And a little more from Harp in the Summer of 2002. So probably Pure Bug Beauty/Company was around at this time. Nylon-string guitar solo probably leads me to believe it's More Like The Moon and maybe they heard the soma Hummingbird or Unlikely Japan which would loosely fit the ELO meets The Band description. I really want to hear this album. --Mike
  12. Vibes again to his friends and family, at least now they know the reason behind it. Damn shame. --Mike
  13. Is The Fire Theft still a pressing concern with these guys? --Mike
  14. I still think at the end of the day it comes down the songs. If you recorded the eleven songs on YHF live in the studio the same way they did Sky Blue Sky, it's still a phenomenal album. If you record the twelve songs on SBS with added "sonic weight" and put a noise breakdown at the end of Walken, the lyrics still sound like they were written in five minutes, and I still don't think the songs are as good overall. Jesus, etc is better to me than What Light in any context, I think War on War would tear the shit out of Shake it Off it was sung over a kazoo. One man's opinion. Hopefully Jeff's
  15. I was never tipped off to one of these "new" boards. What's the deal. I'm smart! Not like everybody says... like dumb... I'm smart.
  16. I'd pay for a boxset. I'd like a tighter focus on the post-YHF sessions leading up to A Ghost is Born, particularly the dBPm album that was talked about in some of the April 2002 press coverage of the band when Foxtrot came out. I listen to the Wilco Book CD as much as anything they've ever put out. Wilco has had consistently great B-sides, and I've gotten pretty decent listening results by toying with the track lists and subbing a few of them in. I replaced I'm A Wheel with Panthers on a playlist of AGIB, and actually liked that version a little more. Right now I'm working on putting together
  17. I am actually coming around to the opinion that this song is better than anything on Wilco (The Album). --Mike
  18. Is there any chance it was Tori Amos? That's my best guest after reading the thread. --Mike
  19. Okay, I finally found Daydreams (still tracking down Maroon). I've had it on my mental "to get" list for awhile after seeing you mention it here. I'll let you know what I think. --Mike
  20. If I had known Jeff didn't want these out there, I'd have never grabbed them, but I do remember what an exciting night it was in 2006 when the first recording of a living room show surfaced. I was taken in by the legend of the untaped first show in 2005, and the setlist for that particular show was incredible. We were operating as has been stated under the misinterpretation that Jeff was cool with these being out there, and though that sadly wasn't the case those recordings always brought me a great deal of joy. I am pretty sure I picked up every available Living Room Show over the years, and
  21. Okay, let's make this a little easier. If you want a link, PM me directly. I'll be on for a bit. --Mike
