  1. I say sell them and use the money (probably 5 - 10 dollars) to start a vinyl collection. The past is the future!
  2. Managed to snag one of the clear records when I got into work. More folk Sufjan is always a good thing.
  3. Has anyone seen a preorder link?
  4. Hey I got a AT LP120-USB as well, for my money, it's the best turntable available in that price range. Though I still haven't heard one of those Uturn Orbits yet. My wife Santa did good this year. Uncle Tupelo - No Depression My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves Elliott Smith - Either/Or Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (one of those expensive "Original Master Recordings" records, I have to admit, it sounds awesome) Plus right before Christmas Jack White and the Bricks, Jack White Live at Bonnaroo, and the Neil Young boxset with Time Fades Away, On the Beach, Tonight's The Night, and Z
  5. Yes! The best JT album since A Ghost is Born.

    Love for Susie

Susie, sending positive vibes to you and the Tweedy clan!
  7. Bit the bullet and ordered the boxset off the Neil Young official store (no indie record stores in rural Canada, I'm afraid), though apparently it's on backorder for a month?? Hopefully they get here soon.
  8. I'd love to pick it up, I've put off picking up used copies of those records waiting for these inevitable reissues but $160?! Holy fuck Neil.
  9. Got the vinyl boxset last night, was disappointed since I ordered it within minutes of the record going live on the official Wilco store, that I got a number in the mid-4000s, but, I guess they never did guarantee low numbers. Would have been nice though. Some of these songs I haven't listened to since my college days but it's good to finally hear them on vinyl. Some of them, especially the earlier stuff I just haven't heard at all (the cover of "Burned" is a good example, and it's awesome!) Side 5 is just as good as any actual side of a real Wilco album, IMO. It speaks a lot to the band's tal
  10. Different people having different opinions? Why, I never!
  11. If I was a betting man, Mark, it'd be they're saving the "unreleased" stuff for expanded reissues of their albums... just a hunch.
  12. Not too disappointed that the live tracks are removed since I doubt they were all recorded for analog anyways. Plus, if it stops it from becoming a 6LP extravagant set, thats ok too. Also the price is a much more reasonable $74. I will patiently wait for an Amazon.ca preorder because fuck Kung Fu and their ridiculous shipping prices and speed. Or not, looks like this is numbered and limited to 7000... might be best to jump in now.
  13. The CD version was 2005, as Tinnitus pointed out the LP was only in 2010. A 15 dollar price hike for only 4 years is pretty excessive, IMO, unless it's on coloured vinyl, or has some other bells and whistles. But on the other hand Bob Dylan has a 4X LP Basement Tapes set coming out soon for 90 dollars, so, I guess that's the world we live in now.
  14. Not a half bad track listing, looks I'll be putting down the money for the vinyl edition. I was going to start tracking down some of the 45s from recent years that I've missed like What Light and You Never Know but I guess there's no point now. I was hoping we'd get some of The Wilco Book songs on this, just because I'd like to hear some of that on vinyl, maybe I can hope for a vinyl pressing at some point though. $85 is a lot especially since Kicking Television, which was also 4x LPs, was only 70... maybe it's colour vinyl? I wouldn't be opposed to that especially after how beautiful Sukierae
  15. This showed up on vinyl on Friday:
  16. Ever since the 90s Neil can sometimes get a little carried away with his lyrics, this is a good example of that. Also I love that Neil's website looks like it's from 1998.
  17. They're one of those bands I've been meaning to listen to out for ages, ever since that wonderful record Will Johnson did with Jason Molina, but I never knew where to start.
  18. Yikes, that was not a good idea from the poster designer.
  19. I've heard this album a couple times now, and just ordered the 12". I definitely love the lo-fi approach. This might be my favourite NY album since the 90s... Maybe....
  20. The Doors. I've also never been able to get into Simon and Garfunkel.
  21. The only good thing about January is when it ends! Bring on Spring, I'm tired of snow.
  22. Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Uncle Tupelo - Anodyne Neil Young - Harvest Moon Ryan Adams - Cold Roses Radiohead - Kid A Beck - Sea Change Beulah - When Your Heart Strings Break Magnolia Electric Co - Nashville Moon Elliott Smith - XO Iron and Wine - The Creek Drank the Cradle
  23. I recently heard "Hate It Here" in a super market. I didn't know whether to be stoked or a little concerned. (Hey this is my first post in two years!!!).
  24. Hey good game for Bruins, didn't think they'd be swept but I was hoping for a game 4 victory instead of 3.
  25. Boston just tweeted that he's moving his extremities. Good news. As a Canucks fan this is good, maybe we can get Ballard in the lineup now.
