You should work in marketing for the band! "Wilco The Album: Better than Maroon 5, buy now!!" -

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: 1) Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 2) Anodyne 3) A Ghost Is Born 4) Being There 5) Summerteeth 6) Loose Fur 7) Still Feel Gone 8) Mermaid Avenue 9) Born Again in the USA 10) Star Wars 11) March 16/20 1992 12) AM 13) Sukierae 14) Sky Blue Sky 15) The Whole Love 16) Mermaid Avenue II 17) Wilco the Album 18) No Depression 19) Mermaid Avenue III I included all the Wilco albums, Mermaid Avenue albums, Loose Fur, Uncle Tupelo, and Tweedy. But not Golden Smog, 7 Worlds Collide, or Down With Wilco. No Depression has a ton of energy and attitude but frankly, the songs aren't nearly as grea -
Sansone for me. Not surprising, I've always found Pat to be a bit of a kindred spirit, and of course these quizzes are 100% accurate.

Ehhhh..... well, the interviews for the film looked great but that editing for the clip was horrendous. Hopefully that does not reflect how the final film will be. I enjoyed the AMA, Nels even responded to one of my questions, I asked about what he was using on his resonator during Misunderstood, and about his tunings for lap steel and resonator: What a nice guy!

I believe tongue-tied's point is, a fadeout ending is a good place to end a side of a record.
-
It's a Buffalo Springfield cover, and it's fairly by the books, so I'd imagine you could use the original chords, though they might have shifted the key maybe.
-
I prefer something like this: Yeah, that Ryan Adams record is great. /sarcasm

I sincerely doubt the Canadian Broadcast Corporation is getting their music choices from Entertainment Weekly. CBC 2 plays Wilco fairly regularly, before Star Wars every few weeks you'd hear songs like Heavy Metal Drummer, Jesus etc, or California Stars, but this is the first time they've put a new Wilco song into their regular rotation. Taste The Ceiling is a good pick as it's pretty accessible to the average listener.
-
Yeah I've heard Taste The Ceiling on CBC Radio Two 3 or 4 times in the past few weeks, looks like they're giving it pretty high rotation, which is good to hear.

I couldn't agree more. Also as Canucks fan I would love a rival so close in Seattle.

Hey this thread I made when I was 20 is still a thing.... the poll was on the 2008 Stanley Cup Finals, so I updated it with something more recent and topical. However I don't know how to clear votes so you might want to delete your vote and revote. I'll update it again in 2023.

NEW ALBUM?!?! And Jeff Tweedy doesn't like Star Wars? The hell?! I've never heard of someone not liking Star Wars. It's like saying you don't like sunshine, puppies, or ice cream. I mean, the prequels, sure...

Just got back, drove down from Prince George to Vancouver to see this show, so sorry if this post sucks, I'm pretty exhausted. Jenny Lewis was pretty good, though a large portion of the audience just waited in the lobby during her performance, which was weird. Wilco was great, I'm happy I haven't been paying attention enough lately to know what their setlists were like beyond opening with Star Wars. Star Wars sounded good, and every song featured three guitars (or two guitars and a lap steel) which is always my favourite version of Wilco. After that everything was a surprise. Every number was

CDs sound really good for a digital audio format invented in the early 80s. If you want quality, vinyl is the only way.

He needs to give the keys to a good producer, and just trust them completely. Someone like Jack White (a proper record that is, not a record booth) or even Jeff Tweedy would be a perfect pairing for NY. Also taking some time off and really concentrating on songwriting would probably be a good idea. He needs to relearn subtlety in his lyrics. But Blackberry Rust is right, Neil wouldn't ever do that.

No video? What is this 2002?! Listening now.
-
Is this the July release? If you sign up before the 15th you can get that month's record, so what I'm wondering is if it's too late for AM. Nevermind, I see this is the August record. Hmmm.....
-
Uhhhhhhhhh.... are you not counting Birds and Ships as a Bragg song??
-
1) Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 2) A Ghost Is Born 3) Being There 4) Star Wars 5) Summerteeth 6) AM 7) Sky Blue Sky 8) The Whole Love 9) Wilco The Album If you were to take all the Wilco Mermaid Avenue 1 and 2 songs and put them on one album, it'd probably be #2. But alas, we have to listen to Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key.
-
Rhino, I've never noticed a sound difference in colour vs no colour. And if you want black there's always the black version available. Options for different folks is never a bad thing.
-
What? No coloured version?! The streak of non-coloured Wilco LPs continues. Too bad, my yellow/orange Sukierae looks amazing. At least we have the Speak Into Roses 10". I will pre-order via Amazon.ca since Kung Fu is literally the worst to non-Americans.

Here's 10: Jay Bennett Nels Cline Robbie Robertson George Harrison Elliott Smith (as an acoustic guitarist, he's top notch IMHO) Nick Drake (samesies) M. Ward Jack White Jonny Greenwood Neil Young

Good call! I didn't realize that was so soon.

On my first listen, but I like it more than I liked Sky Blue Sky, Wilco The Album, or The Whole Love on first listen. At the moment I'm on Taste The Ceiling, so good. It's weird they didn't try to time the release of this up with Solid Sound.
