Thanks for the review Mende! Sounds like 2 fine nights of music. I'll totally disagree w/ ya on Thin Man...that's just about my favorite Bob song ever. Blind Willie Mc Tell! I've caught a dozen Dylan shows, always hoping to hear that one. Never have .

I worry that I have a better chance of being hit by a bus than the Archives being released.

Oh yeah, me too! And Jeff's comment-"since it's NYE, we thought we'd open with one of our more festive numbers"

Aman, how far is Merriweather from you? Are you thinking about going? That would be a nice show for sure. -

Yeah. That Kristol is a real funny guy too . When Stewart asked him if he could get Petraeus on his show he said no, "'cause he thinks you're a pussy".

the King is dead ... long live the King
mountain bed replied to cryptique's topic in Someone Else's Song
Jeez, I had to scroll back to the top here just to remember wtf this thread was originally about. Here's a wierd observation: when Elvis died (age 42) he was considered old & probably washed up. Now, not only am I older than the King was when he died but there's a shit load of rockers still touring & making records in their sixties! -

Yeah, I saw a few last summer, and as great as Barry is on the pedal steel I wish they would have turned him loose on the 6 string for some of the jammier stuff. That guy kills me. -
String Cheese Incident says goodbye

The year 2000 was when these guys just were on another planet. By all means check out the Saenger Theatre in NOLA 5/5/00...Bela Fleck sits in on the first set, and Karl Denson (w/ the Tiny Universe) sits in on the second. Just amazing! When Fall Tour '00 rolled around, Phish had just went on the 'hiatus' & it appeared that SCI was ready to take off in a big way. The "Outside Inside" album came out with a number of classic tunes from their repetoire (Rollover, Latinissimo, the title track)...easily their best studio effort. They continued to blow up buildings all through '00 & '01 and -

Nershi was always the heart & soul of SCI imo, and the only guy who kept the bluegrass connection going. I'm gonna miss seeing him. His enthusiasm was contagious!
