Here's a question: Do those who profited from her drug and alcohol notoriety have blood on their hands? Ultimately, she is responsible for the decisions she made and the addictions she left untreated. But what if managers, publicists, and record label execs all turned a blind eye to her troubles and even encouraged her to release songs like rehab knowing that she was quite possibly killing herself. Do these people bear any responsibility?

I played around w/ it last night. Dumped about 4,000 songs in one playlist to play on shuffle. Just searched by artists and/or album and filled it up. If I can download on my computer at school, I will use the heck out of it. Some artists have pretty ltd or non-existent catalogs, but overall I enjoy it so far. I think the ads are maybe a bit less frequent than Pandora. I like Pandora for the randomness and the ability to discover artists, but I will probably take to spotify to listen to what I want to.

Former Baseball GReat Dale Murphy's take on Wilco

Rome probably is pretty well despised by most on this board who are at all familiar with him. I find him entertaining in the same way my juvenile college friend is. He is a huge 'mats fan, so wouldn't be surprised to find out he's familiar with Wilco. -
Would this really be a big deal? I see CCR as kind of like Wilco. That is Wilco = Jeff Tweedy + whomever / CCR = John Fogerty + whomever. Granted, the CCR lineup didn't change, but did they bring anything to the table that a Fogerty backup band wouldn't? Maybe, I'm a casual CCR fan, but don't know much about the dynamics before the bitter breakup.

Maybe these are tongue in cheek, but I didn't read them that way.

The sense of entitlement expressed by some in this thread is really entertaining.

drum loop? eta: Or possibly they took a sample of the guitar/bass fuzz from T.V. Eye and then used it as an effect on the guitar/bass tone here. Other than those, I don't hear it. Interesting.

I'm pretty sure that it's always been fairly prominent. Maybe even how I discovered the place.

Too soon for what? That poor girl died 3 years ago and my comment in no way made light of her tragic and horrific death. It was intended to poke fun at "slacktivists" who somehow believe that leaving their patio (or porch) lights on is a meaningful expression of solidarity or support for a girl who was "denied justice". My guess is that many of the people who left their lights on for Caylee are the same ones who annually leave off their lights for an hour to somehow stop global warming.

Hate the Yankees, used to like Jeter, not so much the last few years. Having said that, the moment was pretty damned awesome.

Reading some of these posts reminds me how important the Mermaid Avenue discs were in solidifying my feelings about this band, esp. Mermaid Avenue 2. For a while, I was lukewarm on ST. Then I heard Airline to Heaven, Secret of the Sea, and Remember the Mountain Bed. Wow.

1. After reading reviews of AM and Trace (did they have co-reviews in Rolling Stone?) I bought them both. I thought it was kinda like Bob & Grant after the breakup of Husker Du. Nothing nearly that angry on the CDs. I liked 'em both and seem to be in the minority who liked AM better (though Drown was the best song on either CD). 2. Saw them at Val Air Ballroom in West Des Moines, IA 9/17/2003. One of only three shows I've seen, but glad to say one of them was the 2008 Winter Residency night #2.

Not the "I'm showing support for Caylee Anthony" thread I was expecting.

I Might gets a review in Rolling Stone

Steely Dan you're right about, but Little Feat has too small of a nationwide appeal to approach this list. Maybe top 100, but not top 50.

According to his Wikipedia page, he's a huge fan of nearly all Chicago sports. But it doesn't say anything about his current residence.

I went to a soccer game in Des Moines tonight. It was a Professional Development League (mostly college players) against a team from Winnipeg. The PA system didn't come on until halfway through O Canada. Not very cool for Canada Day.

Wilco cloth diapers.

I like the song just fine. Like, don't love. But God forbid someone post a contrary opinion. I know we have someone here called Wilco Worshiper, but I think the point of this board is to discuss Wilco, not fall all over ourselves in constant praise.

After 1 listen I think I like it. Not sure I love it, but I listened to the stream on my laptop speakers. Almost sounds like a Loose Fur track.

He had some great moments with Vince Vaughn in Made.
