  1. Palace Theatre would be a great venue for Wilco, IMO. Saw Bob Mould there last year. Kind of like The Riviera in Chicago, standing room on the floor, sitting in the balcony.
  2. I'd be curious how your involvement came about. How fun!
  3. Great video. I just wish they'd picked an angle of the Marina Towers (which I always want to call Mariana, for some reason) that didn't have the Trump Tower in the background.
  4. Milkwood LP on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/album/01QKvfBXwoa3wokVJx21m7?si=RUfd9_biS9a82UeWVgOVuA
  5. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Ric-Ocasek-Cars-Singer-Dead-in-NY-at-75-560430391.html Pulled up the first Cars LP after seeing the news. Brilliant stuff.
  6. I had a friend in Berlin for work who was able to go. He sent a video with a minute or so of Reservations. It sounded great. Here's how he described the venue.
  7. Kurt Vile doing Passenger Side should be good.
  8. So we've officially stopped counting the number of "nothing"s on Misunderstood, eh?
  9. I never realized the noise on Via Chicago was supposed to replicate walking under the L. It works!
  10. Damn, I've been under the wrong impression for going on 3 decades or more. Thanks! Good call!
  11. The Police were great with that kind of iconagraphy too!
  12. Definitely the most effective use of the Union Jack by a British Invasion band.
  13. After seeing KISS last night, I was thinking about bands that had great marketing. Not bands created specifically by marketing (boy bands, Spice Girls, etc.) but marketing that pushed bands to higher levels. Here are a few... 1) KISS, duh! 2) Grateful Dead 3) Rolling Stones (mostly from the iconic Warhol lips and tongue alone) 4) The Beatles, esp. in the moptop days 5) Wilco 6) Most hair metal bands
  14. Oh geez. When I read that he died I thought I'd remembered him being sick at some point. Another tragic loss! Take care of yourselves, people! Reach out for help if you feel the need.
  15. I loved it. Between this and Inglorious Basterds, I wish Brad Pitt was in EVERY Tarantino movie. I want him to do a special edition of Pulp Fiction where he CGIs Brad Pitt over John Travolta. Also, isn't there a way to cover up spoilers on this board. I have another comment I want to share...
  16. Update: He was back this morning. I'm now 75% certain he uses it as his tobacco spittoon. I didn't see him spit and he didn't have a huge wad under his lip, but I noticed some "texture" to the small amount of liquid in there.
  17. Today, the guy on the weight bench next to me at my local YMCA had out a small, nearly empty bottle of Jack Daniels. I didn't see him drink any, but it was one of the weirdest things I've seen.
  18. Last night at Hinterland was The War and Treaty (highly recommended) Brent Cobb Dawes Maggie Rogers (not my cup of tea, but she garnered a huge response) Brand Carlile (a top live act for sure)
  19. The difference is Yang has some cabinet potential. Williamson is dangerous.
