  1. Took the wife to see it over the weekend. Well, it was suprising when we noticed "At my window sad and lonely". Its actually a very cool Jeff solo version, I would guess an outtake from the 'Mermaid" sessions. The music was good and kept me interested. The movie had some tense moments, it just didn't really do it for me.
  2. The V roys were nice, good mention, it does have its place!!!
  3. I thank Nels is a fantastic guitar player. But, I will stand in the minority here. I just didn't get it. Maybe it was the quality of the recording, but with that being said I just didn't like it. I will reserve my final judgement for the cd but it would really have to knock me off my ass.
  4. I have been into MMJ for a while but I can attest to their music being a "grower". I was not too impressed until I listened over and over. Especially "At Dawn", at first I heard a few slow tempo songs that I thought were ok. After listens four or five, I discovered complex songs with good melody. As I explored more the more I grew to love them. I must also catch them live. I have had the chance but things just keep coming up and I just missed them. I am making promises to see them no matter what this time.
  5. I personally went to Indy early in the tour and Columbus,Ohio in the middle of the tour. I can say for me it was no comparison. Columbus was by far the best. Everything from the setlist(which was one of the best of the tour) to the debut of the Nudie suit, Columbus was a killer. The sound in the Wexner was also good.
  6. While I understand your pain, I believe Wilco gives more than enough to the fans as is. What else can they do to be more fan friendly? Its not as if the show was cancelled, and do you just go to a show to hear the songs off the latest cd? A Wilco concert is a celebration of their music , allow time to pass on this one, it will be just as good in the summer.
  7. I really enjoyed Phish until 99/2000. Frankly, I was glad to see them part. The music really sucked before hey parted. If they do get back together, I would hope for a change of how they did things. They just kept wanting things to get bigger and bigger until they were not enjoyable anymore. Too many hipsters ,druggies and hangers on towards the end. I know there were many rumblings about drugs in the band towards the end. My feelings would be mixed over any reunion.
  8. I remember seeing Hayden in 1996, I was one of five people in the "crowd" great show. I have always been a fan. I wish he played the states more.
  9. Steam Engine Bermuda Highway Dancefloors But it was really hard to pick. Ask me the same question tommorrow and I may have a different answer!
  10. In a Future Age................Airline To Heaven................what else can I say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Amen, this person said it perfect. Also in my opinion, the last few years of Phish were just the same. I really couldn't wait for them to hang it up for good. There will never be anything like The Grateful Dead again, there truly were one of a kind!!!!!!!!
  12. The fact that Wilco doesn't explore the same sounds album after album makes them revelant period. Although I love YHF, I would no longer be a fan if the followup was YHF part II under another name. I get excited about each new release because I know it is gonna be a different approach. I love watching the posts grow on this board when a new song is played live, until it evolves into what it will become on the studio effort. With all do respect to Spoon and other bands mentioned in the original post, those bands could,t hold Wilcos' jock on their best day. Each release doesn't have to be a
  13. I have been taking my daughter to Wilco shows since she was 8 yrs old. It has always been a good experience, she meet Jeff a few summers back in Pittsburgh and he sang Forget The Flowers for her. I would say have fun at the show!!!!!!!
  14. Amen, any RA discussion has to start with Faithless Street, it is really hard to touch that one!!!!!!!!
  15. I can't wait to hear it. There are some interesting names to be found there for sure!!!!!!!!
  16. I was young and in college when both of these bands came out. Nevermind was a great cd, as far as live goes, I have seen them both PJ multiple times(only because Kurt is dead) and the only time I have heard Nirvana sound decent was on Unplugged. PJ can really deliver a blow live, great set list every night and lots of energy. No comarrison PJ by far. Cobain was always way too fucked up to be good night after night.
  17. Thanks for the link. I couldn't stay up to watch. As far as this being a funny show or not, my two cents are, anything that makes fun of George W. is fine with me.
  18. I know I'm a Wheel is a political song, just not what I consider a "deep" thinking song. But A GREAT song none the less, I just dislike HMD.
  19. Amen to Bobby and Phil keeping it alive, that is as fresh of a view that I have heard in awhile, I would love to see Ryan Adams and Phil together.
  20. I hear you on the family man thing, although my daughter has grown up going to Wilco shows it is always tough to get out anymore. Here is to hoping we will get a local Wilco show here soon, my last few shows have been like 3 hour drives from here.
  21. I don't think every song has to have some deep meaning, I love "I'm A Wheel" I personally think HMD sucks. From the beginning especially with the drum thing it just sounds fake and manufactured. The lyrics I can sorta relate to I grew up unfortunately with the Heavy Metal scene. In concert I always find a reason to excuse myself for a drink or the bathroom when this one is played.
  22. I have been to one Ratdog show prior. I have to admit I did not enjoy, it was shortly after Jerry died and I was still in the post Jerry funk. I do think I would enjoy a Ratdog show now thou. Thx for the post, I live in Cols. and feel ashamed I missed since I complain so much about the lack of quality shows that actually bother to stop in Columbus.
