lol the Duluth of Canada, the Sault isn't so bad, I mean I get to see Great Lake Swimmers on Friday... At least we're not Sudbury...
-
You guys all try living in rural northern Ontario! I drive 5-10 hours for every show I go to!
-
I actually really dig the album as well, much better than his last, he's certainly coming into his own it seems.

That's what I'm thinking as well, it's either going to be first or last. Anywhere in between it's going to be taken seriously but, if they open the record with an uptempo Summerteeth-esque rocker about how 'Wilco will love you... baby' and then smack us in the face with some YAMF-esque song, it's a great way to start a record etc.

Most of these shows are a feat in themselves as I am at minimum 7 hours away from any major city. Wilco - 9 Neil Young - 3 Ron Sexsmith - 3 Dylan - 2 There is evidently more (and one that I wish I could see more) but if I can't remember them it's not that important.

Two completely different songs.

How about concerts you had tickets for but never saw?

Wilco Neil Young Ryan Adams & The Cardinals REM Hayden Funny on how we all have a lot of similar bands, the best really are the best it seems. -

Great Lake Swimmers are coming to the Sault in less than two weeks so I am quite excited, especially since they're playing at the place my band plays at quite frequently, and it holds maximum 100 people, we are so so lucky to see them in such a small place. The Decemberists on first listen is quite interesting, I give them full props for being able to come up with the concept and be able to pull it up, not sure if I'm in love with it but it's certainly cool.

According to Spencer Tweedy's blog Jeff is in LA working on the new album. Interesting as the band primarily works in Chicago for pretty much everything (if I'm not mistaken some of AGIB was done in New York as well?).
-
AGIB for me, pretty consistently over the past four years.

The only way this album is going to be great is if they go back to using synthesizers again. End of story.

I've always thought that if Wilco The Song wasn't put either as the first song, last song, or a hidden track the album is automatically going to get panned, it's way goofier than Heavy Metal Drummer or I'm A Wheel imo. For RS to call it standout doesn't surprise me at all either for some reason they always love the silly songs more than others. Also as I recall for SBS, maybe one or two tracks leaked on a blog one night and it maybe was Either Way and Impossible Germany, or something like that. And it was the next day that Wilcoworld posted about the listening party for the record. It was al

http://www.dragcity.com/video/BPB_IAG.mov Watch that video and try not to smile! That ol' Will Oldham has a very lovable face. But I can't believe that this record actually got any bad reviews really, I mean it's not Lie Down In The Light (but I thought that record was almost on par with I See A Darkness), but he's trying new stuff once again and the more you listen to it it's quite a dense record with just really really sweet lyrics and catchy tunes.

Let It Bleeeeed, with Exile a close second.

She writes all of her own solo stuff and as for stuff in the NP, Newman and Bejar do the writing (mainly Newman though Bejar usually brings a couple for each album, although usually the best songs on the album!) and they just get Neko to sing from what I understand.

A shitty rip but I could care less.

Uncut and Mojo are what I think are the best, most well rounded, well written and informative magazines that show new stuff but also sheds light on to a lot of old stuff which I really enjoy. I just wish they would stop putting the same five people on the cover (Dylan, Beatles, Neil, The Who, Zeppelin/Stones), although they have been getting better. I enjoy Paste to an extent but it seems to be getting thinner and thinner each issue (plus the She & Him best album was pretty ridiculous). Under The Radar is decent for real hipster stuff but I disagree with almost every review they give (I me

I find it odd honestly that it is getting bad reviews, truth be told it doesn't sound all that different than his other records and I really think the quality is pretty much up to par (second listen now) with his rapid output.

Ok just finished my first listen. People were talking about all the new instruments and stuff he was using and really it doesn't seem all that different from previous records of his in that sense but it is very similar in the sense that on the first listen you really have no clue if it's genius or not. Maybe its just me but his records always take a while for the tunes to show themselves, but when they do oh oh how I love them.
