Haha that's exactly how I feel about them as well, they really want to be U2 or something now, and I can honestly relate to knowing a few people that now like these guys because of their last two records. They should go back to singing about hard drugs and sex but so that I don't understand what he's saying.

I thought Subtitulo was horrendous as well, I think this is a perfect case of that Spanish girl ruining him! He needs some heartache! Also it should be noted our pal Ryan Adams is digging the Josh Rouse, maybe he'll start writing some pop gems too lol. Josh Rouse "winter in the Hamptons" is so my favorite song right now. this is Josh at his best. I am late to this record,

Well this thread is partly inspired by his use of the same little theme Wilco uses at the beginning of A Magazine Called Sunset on his song Lemon Tree from his new EP (I know someone must know where it is from). But the main thing that totally amazes me about this guy is why he is not sooo much bigger than he is, I mean there is nothing about him that would put him off to the general populous (where say Wilco it could be a bit more understandable) but really this guy just writes plain catchy good pop songs that should make him bigger than he is! 1972 and Nashville are pure classics and even th

I really really love Ram, "McCartney" has some bright spots, probably worth checking out, Chaos was quite good as well.

Let's hope for a Sault date as well! That will definitely not happen...

He wasn't sick he was at another gig! lol Hope we can get a report from the Kronos show.

Pat will probably play drums lol, that guy plays everything!

Alsooooo did everyone forget when Paul Martin was in power Harper said he would align with the Bloc to overthrow the Liberals?
-
I could only think of McCain when Harper was going on about "socialist economics" as well as calling what the Liberals and NDP are doing as "un-democratic", actually Harper it is probably one of the most democratic things about our political system! You come up with cocky and absolutely ridiculous economic plan that undermines the intelligence of any other politician that isn't a Conservative and you expect to get away with it because we just had an election well too bad you brought it upon yourself. Also I think he needs to accept the fact that THE MAJORITY OF THE COUNTRY DID NOT VOTE FOR YOU

Oooook my reaction, I thought Everest were pretty damn awful, that's me though, the singer wanted to be Ryan Adams sooo bad and the rest of the band wanted to be something of a Wilco Death Cab mix, pretty damn blase IMO. Wilco was in super good form as always, Jeff seemed to be having tons of fun, more fun than the last few times I've seen him and he seemed to be moving around a bunch. Keyboards were way higher in the mix than they usually are and Glenn and John were super low in the mix which is a shame. Every song killed obviously, with Handshake and Via Chicago being the highlights for m

What do you think of them? Pretty sure we're opening up for them the next time they come through town, but anyways I think the have really solid tunes and I love the singer, he's as believably crazy as I've ever seen a frontman.
-
Yeah I thought it was great, definitely up there with some of his best work.

I just saw them on this tour, second show in Hamilton, I was quite uneasy going into it not knowing what to expect at all but I came out of it completely blow away. Everybody in that band is still in top form including Zack who I always had doubts about, Pino Palladino is clearly awesome just from his track record, Townsend's guitar tone is completely massive, just awesome and Daltry's voice is still the exact same if not better! No joke! I was super impressed. Also I am pretty sure during the bridge of Won't Get Fooled Again and the drum solo comes in and Daltry is spinning the mic around a

I'm seeing them in Ottawa and Detroit and I really have no doubt that they will be killer, less than a weeeeeeek away.

I love McCartney and I have no shame about it, he's pretty shleppy but I feel he wrote a better 'tune' more of the time throughout the Beatles and his solo career than any of the other members. However, I will admit his contributions to the White Album are not as good as Lennon's but to put it in context it's pretty hard to top McCartney's contributions to Revolver or Sgt. Pepper's.

I saw them open up for John Vanderslice last year at the El Mo in Toronto, easily one the best show I saw last year and there was practically nobody there, quite sad really.
-
Yeah I'm pretty convinced as well that it is my favorite this year as well, two great records in two years we can only hope for more!

Anyone else get their tickets for the Friday today? I'm sitting in section 2 row M seats 201-204, pretty good seats can't complain at all.

What the best seats you had for a concert?
Kalle replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
Wilco @ Toronto (twice), London, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Montreal - front row dead centre four times (this is standing of course, RUSH THE STAGE) the couple other seating shows I've been in the first five rows, so I really haven't had bad seats for Wilco yet Neil Young @ Massey Hall, Toronto - first row, first balcony dead, centre Bob Dylan @ Essar Centre, Sault Ste. Marie- front row dead centre Ryan Adams @ Michigan Theatre, Ann Arbor - 5th row There's probably a billion other shows but those are the biggest and most memorable, I've never actually had shit seats for any concert I've ever been -
I completely agree with you solace on both Ryan and Blitzen Trapper, I really disliked the newest Blitzen Trapper album because I thought they were playing it safe with the lack of wacky songs but now I am pretty convinced it's my favorite this year.
