  1. Well the show was on Friday and it was such an awesome experience. The Elliot Brood guys seemed to really dig our set and they wanted to play with us again which would be really great if that could happen. They split their set into two playing majority of the new stuff in the second half, the show ended with everyone getting a tambourine, pans, spoons and all playing along, great great fun. We talked about Wilco after and before the show (and all the praise the band is getting on here) and how playing with them halfway fulfills my life long dream of opening for Wilco (one degree of separation
  2. You And I is such a fantastic song, this is a really nice sounding show.
  3. According to Pollstar they have added a second Toronto date. http://pollstar.com/tour/searchall.pl?By=C...et=N&Page=6
  4. Holy crap really?! I absolutely loved the last one, this thing needs to leak where I can get it soon!
  5. Totally agree, such an awesome line.
  6. My band "Kalle Mattson" is opening up for Elliot Brood here in the Sault Sept. 12th! Excited excited!

Very good points, Nels' solo on Patient With Me is quite tasteful. I just felt from my initial reaction to One Wing was that "yeah Nels, we've heard this all before", that was it, guaranteed it's going to be completely different recorded.

    It's a good title!

Yeah totally, bang on on what I think as well. The thing is is he's SUCH a killer guitar player and so much inventive things that I wish he would do more of what Glenn refers to as "serving the song" instead of stealing the show with guitar solos and flourishes all over the place. His slide work on "Sky Blue Sky" (the song) is sooooo tasteful, so that's a good example of what I'd love to hear more of. Whatever happened to playing Side With The Seeds live? Out of some of the SBS material that I felt fell flat live (Either Way for example) this one totally didn't. But now upon listening to Sid

The only thing that I will say concerning the new album and One Wing, is that I am extremely excited for a lot more studio experimentation etc. But I AM afraid (from my impressions of One Wing) that the band will fall into the "Nels freakout" trap. He has such a distinct style and sound that I hope it doesn't become custom to give him his little shining moment in each song, I'd really love to hear him do something "beautiful", for lack of a better word.
  12. Yup sure will, I'm going to Detroit as well which will be good. For them not playing Chicago, odds are there will be another residency in Chicago next year and (maybe maybe hopefully they'd debut the new album? wishful thinking) that's a big five nights of Wilco fun. It does suck though that people from Chicago won't be able to see Wilco with Neil.
  13. My bets are Walk On, Jeff has been known to cover it and Neil should totally bring this one back to play live.
  14. Anyone get tickets for Ottawa? We got section 104. http://www.tickco.com/sc/589-404/
  15. I'm going to Ottawa and Detroit, so odds are I will get two entirely different crowds.
  16. Same as last year. Ralph Molina, Ben Keith, Rick Rosas. Odds are his wife and that other guy (can't remember his name) will be there as well.
  17. Agreed this is pretty much a dream concert, any way this could be better is if John Lennon came back from the dead or if Dylan could get transported from the 60's.
  18. Ok so Ottawa isn't showing up, ugh.
  19. Winter residency 2.0? Maybe the guys will pull a Neil on this tour and play ONLY new songs and piss everyone off
  20. I've always heard and seen Jeff play this Capo II.
  21. Probably going to Ottawa, Toronto and Detroit! I am so gd excited!

  23. I dunno I saw Neil last November on the Chrome Dreams tour at Massey Hall, it's easily my favorite venue in the whole world but I can't see Neil Young AND Wilco playing a venue in which they have both sold out. My bet is probably on something like the Hummingbird Centre (Sony Centre or whatever they call it now).
