  1. Hey Katie, I'm staying here at Algoma U next year but the year after I'm going to Carleton! Tons of my friends will be going to Ottawa as well, we can be pals!
  2. I agree it's pretty good, I'm going to see them in May.
  3. I saw them a couple times last year, once at our local coffee shop with an "acoustic" set and then at a artsy type bar for a "rock" set. Both were awesome and they are a super solid band and I can see them doing big things. Super nice guys and really they write good tunes and that's all that matters. "The Wooden Sky" (song) is my favorite off of the album, great song.
  4. Pretty much my exact feeling, as well as Muzzle Of Bees and Spiders live. Nels a la Impossible Germany obvvvvvv. + Ashes live. I really love Bennett's tone on Summerteeth (the song).
  5. Neil Young's tone live is empowering, so awesome. Recent era Tweedy and Cline.
  6. I subscribe to Paste, Guitar Player, Mojo, Uncut, American Songwriter and Harp before (some of these are dads but I read them every month). Paste is easily my favorite, I hope they don't go bankrupt. I also buy Under The Radar and Exclaim (Exclaim is a free Canadian magazine, quite awesome).

  8. Yeah totally agree with the Plants And Animals record it's great (their EP is solid as well). I am preparing for seeing the Constantines and Tokyo Police Club in May along with Ron Sexsmith woot!
  9. I dunno I think he writes some decent catchy tunes, totally agree that he hasn't evolved musically or lyrically and I don't find that very admirable but at least he isn't a pretentious dick about his music.
  10. I've just got some crappy seats for Leonard Cohen's show in Kitchener ye ye!
  11. Wow surprised you've heard this! They played to about 5 people here last summer, they were awesome glad you are enjoying!
  12. I saw him play that in Massey Hall last November, one of my favorite songs of all time and the crowd went nuts during the Toronto mentions in it.
  13. May not be as exciting as some of the other one's you guys are picking up but about two weeks ago I got a Jose Ramirez R4. Such a beautiful guitar, plays like a dream, amazing balanced sound, just all around fine manufacturing. Here are some links and pictures so you can see it. http://www.lamusic.ca/default.asp?nCategor...4&PID=1393# http://www.promenademusic.co.uk/details.asp?sku=4300 http://www.sheehans.com/classical-guitars/ramirez/pcode=r4
  14. Sweetheart Of The Rodeo for me as well.
  15. Great purchase, I know from experience (I have a 000-15) that not only the M1 but you want to go for something cheaper the 'Element' sounds amazing as well.
  16. Man I can almost guarantee you that the Arcade Fire have sold more than 500,000 records.

  18. I actually just finished watching it for the first time too and I thought it was great, just a genuinely great movie.
  19. They are really nice for the price. lol. But if you got the cash and you want small but mighty amp you really should just get a Swart Space Tone, one of my favorite amps of all time. Tweedy and Dean Wareham use them as well.
  20. I don't know I can't even tell yet, think it's a "grower" but then again any album that doesn't hit you in the head is considered one.
  21. I saw Ryan last year in Ann Arbor, I wore this shirt just for him. His apprehensive face says it all.
