  1. If Detroit holds true that pretty much guarantees a Toronto date, I'll probably go twice!
  2. They're still fantastic live. I saw this setlist http://remhq.com/blog_detail.php?id=55 and Ignoreland might be the biggest sounding song I have ever heard live, massive sounding.
  3. No order really. Rain Dogs Real Gone Blood Money I don't consider Orphans really but it would be definitely in the top 3 for me.
  4. I'd say Ok Computer beats out Summerteeth but other than that yes.
  5. Another reasoning for the comparison is the timeline and styles of their records and neither band has really put out a junk album yet. Pablo Honey = A.M., straightforward records and certainly neither bands best. The Bends = Being There, classics within their catalogues yet still more straightforward in their musical approach. Ok Computer = Summerteeth, hard to compare the two but to me they have a few similarities.0 Kid A + Amnesiac = Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, possibly both bands best record? Most experimental for sure. Hail To The Theif = A Ghost Is Born + Wilco book, Maybe a bit of a
  6. Two best bands in the world right now? Of the past ten years?
  7. That man can write a tune, plus he is the perfect sideman with Kathleen and the Weakerthans.

  10. I saw Steely Dan in Ottawa recently, quite a good show, all their tunes were completely changed up for this tour.
  11. This one has certainly grown on me while driving compared to the leaked version on my computer, solid work I must say, the lyrics are some of his best yet. "Souled Out!!!", "Cape Canaveral", and "Leaders In The Temple" are all really awesome I think.
  12. I'm going to the Ann Arbor date in October, should be good the one song sounds pretty great.
  13. Odds are it will happen as Jeff reassured us again at the Cubs game. A dream come true would be for to be in Massey Hall in Toronto but if it is in Chicago this year I will end up going for sure, can't miss out two years in a row!
  14. Add the Constantines, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Kathleen Edwards, Born Ruffians, Ron Sexsmith to that list.
  15. Fleet Foxes Hayden Plants and Animals Dr. Dog

Ok for chords so far much of the verses is just Am to Em and F. For the chorus type bits they throw in the odd G and C but I'm not quite sure yet. The little hook that I assume Nels plays is this, and yes a huge rip off of Losing My Religion: e ----10/12-10-8--------------- b -------------------10---------- g ------------------------9------- d --------------------------(10)-- Much of Nels' solo/lead bit is chromatically based. e--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- b ---12-12-12-12-12b13-12-12-12-10-10-10-10-10-8-8-8-8-6-6-6-6-6
  17. I recently saw Neil on the first night of his Massey Hall shows in November and after seeing what was probably the best live show I've ever seen and the single greatest performance of any song live (Ambulance Blues) I vowed to never ruin that experience of seeing Neil. Only if Wilco actually did open on a show would I break that. As for Neil being I jerk I had the honor of meeting and talking to him after said show about my hometown (Sault Ste. Marie), Massey Hall among other things and he is one of the most humble and personable musicians I have ever met, super nice guy.
  18. One Wing - Sounds like in the same vain as Impossible Germany, I feel it still needs some work with the arrangement etc, Nels' solo is cool but I feel it's too much of the same old same old shredding vibrato stuff freak out stuff. Sunny Feeling - Has potential to be a fun pop number, I don't like the falsetto thing in the verses and I still feel there could be more to it. I'm sure we'll hear these evolve quite a bit over the next year or so and these probably gave a far better impression live as I found with all of the SBS material.

  20. Pre-Ordered the deluxe edition, god I am excited!
  21. Well as some of you may or may not know up here in ol' Sault Ste. Marie I have a band that has been together for roughly 8 months or so and in that short amount of time we've developed somewhat of a fan base here in the Sault and surrounding area and are fortunate enough to be able to play at least once a week in various venues around town opening for the likes of Colourbook, A Northern Chorus, Ghost Bees etc. Anyways, a couple months ago we were contacted by the promoters for Sault Ste. Marie's Rotaryfest so that we would play "The Second Stage" (amazingly enough the "Main Stage" is ONLY COVE
