  1. My problem with both reviews is I get the feeling that they are expecting another YHF or AGIB, which isn't Wilco's thing to do: make the same record. Basically, when it comes to reviews, the only one I'll actually consider is Greg Kot (yes I do enjoy his writing), but he's an honest reviewer and knows the in-depth history of the band.
  2. I've only listened to it via streams on their website (so about three times) and I do have to agree on the tears part because SBS really creates a beautiful message filled with hope in a gloomy time in our world.
  3. I know you need math, but you don't need to Calculus.
  4. In the clip of two men standing in a snow across the street, I was curious in wondering if that was Nels and Mike?
  5. Great shit. I just listened to it and great song selections from shows because they are all outstanding. Let us know when your done with Being There. Thanks again.
  6. Writing and reading can help you out quite a bit. Math you only need how to do Alegbra and science is bull if you are not going into the profession. But besides that, especially senior year as I am, one should mostly dedicate their time to hanging out with friends, playing and listening to music, and enjoying life. But hey, at least homework is more productive for someone than watching T.V.
  7. I can of think those albums are bit hard to contrast. If I were you, I would do like A.M. to Being There because there's big difference between those two. However, in every Wilco album there is differences, which is why they are great. But since you are doing SBS and YHF, here are some brief ideas of differences. Songwriting: YHF- The album is a lot about America. For proof, check out "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart" "Ashes Of American Flags" and "Reservations." Use those to find out and then write about what Tweedy's stating about America. SBS- There's a lot of hope filled in the alb
  8. Yoko Ono should be interesting at Pitchfork, but I am very happy Califone is in because I enjoyed their set when they hoped for Wilco on Nov 25 Chicago show. Moreover, Girl Talk and Of Montreal.

    Heroin

I think the best version of "Herion" is found on live 69' album. It's great song, but it pales when compared to "Sister Ray." And with the Bob Dylan thing, he's only full shit during his Christian period.
  10. Well, if you want to go expensive and some fuzz, go with the Fuzz Factory (Z. Vex Products). It's a good amount, but it is worth it because it's sick! Classic! Amazing! And Weird! But I'm also going to be getting 1969 Fuzz Fulltone (it's cheaper than the Factory) , which I heard is also good. It all depends on your tastes and I do love an overdrive sound that sounds a bit more fucked up!
  11. I think The Feelies should be up there. But I agree with Nick Drake also having to be on the list. The list is very stupid (no matter who made it) because seriously Bob Seger and Tom Petty. I do, however, agree with Sonic Youth's placing because there records especially their early stuff and their 90's experiments are highly underappreciated.
  12. First a lady creates two different VC accounts to post three links of herself singing a song that has Jeff Tweedy in it. Now people are swearing at each other over updating a website (it could at least be a better topic). This place is getting weird.
  13. Same here. I am 18 and I like general admission better because then I can get up closer, but it is an amazing sight seeing a show at the Aud Theatre.
  14. it is the best kind especially good old murder ballads. Though Muddy Waters going electric and Howlin' Wolf and other bluesman similar to them are good. However, when white people (expect for Mike Bloomfield and The Rolling Stones) such as say Eric Clapton toyed with the blues, they runied it. Now, John Mayer is killing the blues even more.
  15. Thanks I guess I was in a bit of a haze.
  16. I noticed "Say You Miss Me" the other day. I don't why they would do that because it's good song unlike Hotel Arizona.
  17. I have and it's pretty cool. I want to buy the whole Smith collection, but it's like eighty dollars.
  18. So say if one wanted to go to the show and was not a Northwestern student, how would they get into the show?
  19. I only have the one posted as "Someone Else's Song, but here's a link to a video on MySpace of Jeff and Jay Bennett singing it. It's a beautiful version of it and got me hooked on the song. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=1132606306
  20. I just bought RC-20 and I love it. Though I am still sad about not being able to get 16 second digital delay. Thanks everyone for their help.
  21. What artist is the horn intro because it's a great song.

    A.M.

I don't think CYHSY debut is that great. There's a couple of good songs and that's it. But Sonic Youth's is pretty fantastic debut as you have mentioned, though I often think their first self title EP is their debut. But I think A.M. is a great album: killer hooks, drumming, riffs, and Brian Henneman.
