  1. Just listened to the show via XRT and all I have to say is amazing shit. That's all.
  2. Should begin around 7:30 p.m. central time.
  3. I've also only scratch the service of pedals, and was wondering what's the method behind having in a certain order or does it matter?
  4. I was thinking 10 central time, but I could be wrong.
  5. I'm not sure if this has been posted since I have not been reading the residency show links, but WXRT is broadcasting Wilco's Tuesday Feb. 19th's show. Here's the link: Click on number 5 and you'll see what I mean: http://www.wxrt.com/
  6. Yeah, I'll be listening in. Here's the link to the stream of their station: http://www.wxrt.com/pages/1594158.php By the way, here's a description of what guest hosts usually do (from the website): "The Eclectic Company is a truly unique listening experience, with each host playing his or her choice of favorite recordings, selected specifically from their personal collections, and sharing experiences and insights with the audience. The spontaneous, intimate setting of the show gives the audience a rare glimpse into the music scene, as well as the lives of some of their favorite perfor
  7. I have heard it. It's at the very very end. And to Lost Highway, from what I have read (which could be entirely wrong) Drag City is reissuing his old stuff, but O'Rourke is finishing up a new album.
  8. I think Tweedy still sees O'Rourke as a part of Wilco. For example, while his mix was dropped in favor Jim Scott's mix, I believed he did write the violin parts in "Either Way," and "On and On and On" and he is listed as playing on some of the tracks on their latest release (however, some of his parts are rather small). Moreover, I remember reading in Pitchfork in an interview with Tweedy that: "Pitchfork: To what degree is Jim O'Rourke still involved with the band? Jeff Tweedy: Well, I think as much as he ever has been. The contributions to this record aren't as much as the last two but
  9. Looks like (if I go), I'll be the only one at the Grand Rapids show though the show is on a Saturday.
  10. I think I might be going to the Grand Rapids, MI show, and I would be coming from Appleton, WI. Who's opening for who? I am more of a Califone fan so I do hope to see them get the longer time slot, but my guess would be Iron and Wine is the main attraction.
  11. Hell Yes! I can't wait for the reissues and the New CD. I am actually going to be buying Disengage soon.
  12. He uses it on "Caved-In Heart Blues" off of The Nels Cline Singers latest release "Draw Breath." It sounds fantastic.
  13. Where should one start with Cluster? All I have is some Can (Tago Mago and Future Days) and Neu!'s self-titled. So basically I need to get more, but what I have, I love.
  14. As Louie B mentioned, your question is a very ambiguous. If your paper is supposed to be about 20th century musical movements, then I would write about 20th century musical movements such as jazz, the development of blues from the plantations, country music, the birth of rock and roll, rap, dance, and of course classical music (though some purists hate more modern classical and would say it's dead). In any case, I would leave Wilco out of your paper because there are hundreds of other bands that pop up in rock and roll (Elvis, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, The Ramones,
  15. And if you really want to start to get weird: get some: Instellar Space Revisted Four Guitars Live. But might I also mention The Geraldine Fibbers's "Butch" that he plays in after becoming a band member in 1997. It's out of print, but you can get it through amazon dealers very cheap (I got mine for $ 2 plus shipping). It's really a great record. Moreover, I am hoping to get the CD Nels plays with Vinny Golia. Good luck!
  16. All I have is Reville and Apples O' and they are a fantastic band. My friends always make fun of me for listening to them but it's really unlike anything I have ever heard before.
  17. It's certainly not going to improve one's skills to say the least. But at the very least they do have Sonic Youth's "Kool Thing" on the third verison, which is a great song. However, most of the lead guitar stuff on the songs on the game are just over the top nonsense.
  18. Yeah, I was there too with Lou and renic (she was only there Friday) and both nights were great. But overall, I enjoyed almost all of the performances and the standouts I would say were Fred Anderson Trio and The Sea and the Cake on Friday and Tortoise, Califone, Frequency, Eleventh Day Dream on Saturday (espeically as Lou mentioned seeing Rick Rizzo a middle-age man rocking out and playing some rad guitar). Moreover, I enjoyed talking music with Lou both nights and talking with renic on the subway ride back on Friday night. So all in all it was a great time.
  19. I started with "Roots and Crowns." And now have "Quicksand/Cradlesnakes" and "Heron King Blues." Moreover, I still need more of theirs and of Red Red Meat. But yeah, they are really a great band and can't wait to see them again at Thrill Jockey show this weekend.
  20. So are Friday single day tickets on sale via wilcoworld? or somewhere else?
  21. Yeah, I feel that "Desolation Row" is a lot better than "Sad Eye Lady of the Lowlands." Moreover, while "Heroin" is a great song, I feel that "Sister Ray" should have been included.
  22. I shall be there (as long as I do get a ride back from college in time). We should meet up and talk music since we didn't get much of a chance when we met briefly at Pitchfork.
  23. This is the next instrument on my list to learn along with banjo. But yeah, I would say if you really want to learn it or gig with it, do what rileykill said.
  24. InGlenntion did an interview with Nels Cline on University of Iowa's radio station (he posted it on here a while back) and I believe Nels said in the interview that Wilco is getting together in January to jam and demo for a little bit.
