Which bands/artist have best B-sides and Non-Album Tracks
Yaz Rock replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song
Pearl Jam - used to have tons of great b-sides and outtakes. Almost nothing has leaked from their last few albums however, Soul Asylum - especially early/mid-1990s they had enough material to fill 2 or 3 good albums. Mazzy Star has some good non-album material too, but not a prolific amount -
Could be that OP means "official bootleg" as opposed to fan-made recordings? Jeff wouldn't really know if fans were taping nor to make mention of it. I believe that Wilco tape every show but, unlike Pearl Jam, they do not release very show, just select performances.

The First Great Song You Heard in Concert
Yaz Rock replied to roadhse ma's topic in Someone Else's Song
Release - Pearl Jam, 1998 Was actually my fourth-ever big concert... but I think this one has to be the most memorable of those early tunes I heard. . -
Yup. I was thinking the same thing in Philly during Standing on the Moon. Whomever is singing doesn't have to SOUND like Jerry, but at least the vocals should follow the pattern of the music. Whatever Bob was doing wasn't matching up with me singing along, as I expected the vocals to go. Mayer doesn't really sound like Jerry, vocally, but his vocals feel "right." Anyhow, i thought Philly was a blast. MSG 2 seemed epic via the webcast, really wished I was there. Wish I was going to more shows.

Success! Got GA for both nights Cap Theater. Initially I had two tix for one of the shows, I forgot the default was for two tix (so annoying) so I had to clear that and start over. Fortunate to still get one. Interestingly I was able to get both nights on the same order page, rather than having to check out for each show individually, which is how (I think) it used to work on Frontgate (and still does for TM?) Rob

Yep. "Tix not available at this time" does not mean "give up". Keep trying until it says the event is sold out.

Yeah, I selected Brooklyn seats based on the interactive map and by the time I entered the captcha code the seat was gone. Finally resorted to the "best seat available" option and went through with that. Thought I secured tix for both nights but it turns out that my orders didn't go through initially!! Don't know if it was a CC problem (I have a new card with old number/new expy date) , or with the TM page itself. As I've said before I'm finding these new "smart device friendly" webpages to not be all that user friendly! Unfortunately when I went back through the process again the Friday tic

They didn't sell out in 30 seconds. I got mine a few mins after 11. Then again I was only looking for 1, how many did you try for?

New Haven still available, just scored one. Totally got sidetracked with work stuff at 10am and missed Brooklyn. The new ticketing page still confuses me.

A few people were standing during Star Wars, and it didn't seem that anyone bothered them to sit... A handful more got up for Handshake Drugs. Then Camera came in, and simultaneously everybody in the theater said "Fuck this shit!" and got up and got shakin. I must be getting old as even I don't mind sitting at some shows nowadays... Maybe this is the way to go.. A seated 30-minute set, and then rocks out. Everybody wins.

Well, not every crowd can be Ithaca, y'know Sorry you missed that one! I'll post some pics/addl. comments for that show over the weekend.

Well, the best pair of seats I can pull up now for the Philly show is behind the stage. So yes, looks like there is good demand.

The first time I heard So Many Roads I thought it was a cover.

Very much agreed. I'd say By The Light of the Moon is my favorite. Apparently the band doesn't think so, I guess it wasn't a good experience for them. Agreed on This Time and Town and City. Will the Wolf Survive is another great record, maybe my 2nd favorite. Real friendly guys, they often do autograph sessions after the shows.

"Receiving pumpkins" line was the best thing I've ever read in a review. This was not too bad either: "the height of 'The joke Explained' with that dylanian Tweedy stop on a certain aroma posed with Velvet, and are asking for a change of pace. Too bad this does not come with 'You satellite' leaden and boring to death distorted." "aroma posed with velvet" and "boring to death distorted" sound like they could be actual Jeff Tweedy lyrics. Pretty good review there. But really, even the Spanish review invoked the Beatles. Does every record review need to do that? I'm sure Jeff digs the Beatl

Why do our disasters creep so slowly into view

I first saw them in 1999, so Summerteeth and Mermaid Avenue I were probably the first albums I heard. But quickly followed by MA II, BT, and AM - I delved in fully early on.

Pearl Jam - Daughter https://youtu.be/RiqgTPmkfek?t=99 (1:40 in) Short but sweet - amazed they haven't really extended this one much live. Los Lobos - Road To Gila Bend https://youtu.be/2qx_uraT9dk?t=127 (2:07 in) I saw Trey guest with LL around 2007 or so, and he took the solo. David Hidalgo had to wave him off to finish! Trey would have kept going and going...That's like the only show of theirs I haven't found on tape too, would like to revisit that night. The Jayhawks - Martin's Song https://youtu.be/LyQCoB186RY?t=104 (1:45 in) Pearl Jam - In My Tree https://youtu.be/FZU0SvCfHJs?t=
